Normal sugar: You seem to be checking your sugar with a glucomoter frequently, why? A normal glucose is between 80-99 mg/dl. If you have chronic episodes of low glucose levels, go to and endocrinologist and ask to be evaluated for an insulinoma, which means you have a pancreas that is secreting Insulin at times when it is not needed. ...Read more

Eat sugar/adjust med: You've got low sugar and you're on 2 meds, Ativan and Inderal (propranolol) that cause hypotension and lower heart rate. You need to eat sugar when it's low to get it higher or you can lose consciousness, so see your dr. Poorly controlled: Diabetes can give you all those symptoms. Have to be aggressive with management. Diet, exercise, lose weight, stay away from carbs. Also be sure your thyroid levels are normal. Probably: This certainly could have been a migraine, and your positive family history of migraines increases the likelihood that this was a migraine headache. Try to avoid sleep-deprivation, hunger, thirst, or prolonged computer work without a break, and also avoid any foods or other things which clearly seem to trigger the headaches.
