Could be normal.: Not sure why you would have blood drawn 3 months after having normal labs in a young and healthy female? There may be more to the story.... ? These labs could be seen as part of a viral syndrome. May be best to repeat them at some point. ...Read more

My absolute Lymph blood test is low at 0.6 (Normal is 0.7 to 3.1). Previous years it was 0.7 and 0.9. Other tests are normal. Is this serious?

Abnormal Blood Count: This would be considered a mild abnormality and does not necessarily raise any alarm signals. But, with the gradual decrease in the lymph count, a repeat CBC by your PCP at a later date may be helpful to determine if this is an ongoing process or something not clinically significant. ...Read more

Lymph nodes swollen for 4 years both side of groin. Blood test normal. Is this of concern? Help please

Lymph nodes swollen for 4 years both side of groin. Blood test normal. Is this of concern? Help please

Not of concern: If the lymph nodes have stayed stable for four years, you do not need to be concerned about these. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more

Male 25yrs I have had swollen lymph nodes in my right groin for about two years. Blood test are negitive and ultrasounds show mutiple? Doctors unsure?

Probably nothing: Lymph nodes may become enlarged and remain that way because of inflammation in a surrounding area. The pelvis is a "dirty" region of the body, and inguinal or groin nodes are commonly enlarged. If these have been stable 2 years it is probably benign, but if you remain concerned, biopsy may provide the answer to your question. ...Read more

I'm 20 years, have enlarged lymph nodes in my groin (one is >1 cm), & it has been there for 4 months. I have pain in hip area, but all blood test are normal. How likely is it to be Lymphoma?

Always possible: Persistent nodes in groin that have not increased in number or size while probably inflammatory can always represent low grade lymphoma. If nodes are firm and there are some symptoms of nerve pain in hip area biopsy might be indicated. ...Read more

Blood tests: There are a few diseases that leap out from blood tests. Most of the time, however, blood tests don't tell the doctor much on their own. These results fall into the second group, not very specific. Your doctor will need to relate them to the symptoms for which the tests were requested. ...Read more

Low lymph score on a blood test. What does this signify?

Possibly nothing: It depends on how low. Lymphs are one of the types of cells that fight infection but in isolated general questions like this without numbers it is very hard to answer and usually a slightly low lymph count is meaningless. In your case if concerned asked your provider that ordered your test. ...Read more

My lymph glands have lymoh nodes on them and I have to have a blood test. What would the blood test tell me?

Explanation : Enlarged lymph nodes, especially in the neck are usually due to an infection such as strep throat. Another common cause is infectious mononucleosis (mono). A blood test is usually done in this setting to prove that mono is the cause. If the nodes (lumps) don't go away and the mono test is negative, your dr. May consider x-rays or a biopsy to be explain the cause. You should make sure to follow-up. ...Read more

Need more info: The percentage of WBC types doesn't allow a hematologist much to help you with. The complete blood count including the total white blood count, the hemoglobin and platelet count are as important as the percentages of white blood cell types. Even more important is the history and symptoms of your situation. ...Read more

Maybe infection,,,: From your information, it looks like you've got infection. Your white count is high and that is a very telling sign of infection which could be a complication of your endometriosis. You'd need an aids test and would have other general signs like long standing fever and not necessarily abdominal pain and wouldn't have such a high white count for aids. Best of luck. ...Read more
