Swelling of leg: If the leg swelling is recurrent and subsides overnight but reoccurs later in the day, I would be suspicious of chronic vein damage which might be an aftermath of the old leg injury which may have caused phlebitis. If the leg swelling is not in the leg or ankle, but in the knee, it suggests cartilage damage. If it's not a knee problem,consult a vascular surgeon for evaluation and treatment. ...Read more

If One has not had a recent Fall/Injury and One is not inclined to wear very high heeled shoes, One should 1st mind their Sitting Posture as these are commonest causes of LBP in young people. If U mean Ur calves: -gastrocnemius U may B running on Ur toes. That's not proper technique. Should B a heel-toe gait, just like when Ur walking. ?shin splints: If the discomfort is not in the knees but in the lower legs below the knee, these may be shin splints due to overuse and muscle irritation especially brought on by running. Try reducing your running, ice the legs and , if you can take them, nsaids like Ibuprofen or Naproxen may help. Pop sounds Bad.: Feeling a pop in a calf, especially under the circumstances you have given, is certainly concerning. I would recommend that you see a specialist for a evaluation of your calf. Muscle aching: and pain is almost always caused by overuse or strain in a young person such as yourself. Since it feels like you need to stretch it, I would go ahead and do that. I would also apply heat (heating pad or warm, moist compresses), pursue massage, and NOT overuse it. With some TLC, you legs should feel better in a few days.
