My left ovary hurts when I cough?

My left ovary hurts when I cough?

Scar tissue/hernia: If the area of your body where the ovary is located hurts when you cough it may mean that you have internal scar tissue. This is especially true if you have had previous surgery in the pelvis including a cesarean section. It may also suggest a heavier ovarian cyst on the affected side. A hernia of the bowel may also be the culprit. Get it checked out! ...Read more

Cough (Definition)

The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Cough benefits the host by reducing load and benefits the pathogen which may then spread via aerosol. ...Read more

I seem to have thrush but i also have lower tummy pain, blood stained discharge and my left ovary is hurting especially when I cough?

Go for major dx: A UTI can cause lower and discomfort and may be part of the picture. The discharge may be incidental but there is a chance you have an infection of the uterus. Thrush is an oral candida infection and likely not related to this but I think u need to get seen. I place my bet on an uti, but not there to examine so don't give it too much weight. Also, do an upt. ...Read more

My left side by my ovary hurts when I cough, what could be wrong?

My left side by my ovary hurts when I cough, what could be wrong?

Neuritis: Pain in the lower abdomen that is exacerbated by coughing or lifting is commonly an abdominal wall neuritis and not usually the ovary (unless it is quite enlarged). Try a heating pad and if the pain improves even a little while the heat is on this means it is fairly superficial pain and not deep down in the area of your bowels or ovary. Neuritis pain will resume after heat pad removed ...Read more

When I cough, my left ovary hurts. I feel a sharp pain every time. Why? How can I treat it?

Unsure why: If this is a new development and only lasts a few days, it may be related to a normal ovarian cyst. Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) is ok to take in the short term. If the pain is severe or if this has been going on for more than a few weeks, then you should be seen by your gynecologist for an exam. ...Read more

My boyfriend and I are trying to get preganent. Recently when I cough I get a sharp pain in my left ovary. What would cause this pain?

Possible ovulation: If you have an ovulatory cyst (normal) on the ovary it may be a sign you are close to ovulation, and it can be painful. Of course there are other reasons for ovary pain and if it persists you probably need a sonogram to asses it. You might check an ovulation predictor kit to see if you are ovulating and fertile. ...Read more

My left ovary hurts all the time?

My left ovary hurts all the time?

Pelvic Pain: It may not be the ovary that is hurting. The belly does not always tell the body directly where the pain is coming from. Thus, left pain can have its source somewhere else. It can seem like your ovary is the source but it may be something else. Common other things can be GI pain, back pain, other pelvic organs, etc. An evaluation with a doctor may help determine the source. ...Read more

Have a sharp pain in my left ovary area (if I poke that area it can hurt in response have had pain before) period is 8 days late could it be a cyst?

Yes it could be.: If the egg didn't release on time, there could be a "functional" cyst. But be sure that the late period isn't related to a pregnancy. If there is a possible pregnancy, run a home urine test. The pain may be related to a tubal pregnancy or a corpus luteum cyst which is normal during an early pregnancy. ...Read more

I'm almost 2 months late and whenever I sneeze or adjust myself too fast, my left ovary starts to hurt. Could I be pregnant?

Possibly : If you have been sexually active and your period is almost 2 months late you could be pregnant. To know for sure, do a pregnancy test and repeat it in 3-5 days if it is negative. I have painful pelvic pain, my left ovary hurts, and I have had frequent urination for 8 months. What could be the cause of this?

Pelvic pain: I really need more information to give you a meaningful answer. How old are you? Are your periods regular? Do you have pain with intercourse? Etc. Endometreosis is the first thought that comes to mind, but that can be difficult to diagnose. I strongly recommend you see your doctor for a pelvic exam, possibly pelvic ultrasound, and urinalysis. ...Read more

I had a c-section 4 yrs ago, ever since my left ovary hurts & gets swollen. I had a pap 3 months ago & my pap came out normal. What could it be?

Unrelated to PAP: The pap test (cervical cytology) does not assess ovary tissue or ovarian function. So, a normal pap does not have anything to do with the ovary. You may have endometriosis, a benign ovarian cyst, pain with ovulation, or a number of other things. I would get an ultrasound and see your ob/gyn. ...Read more
