Triglycerides is 210 and my LDL is 165 is it risky?

Triglycerides is 210 and my LDL is 165 is it risky?

Yes: Triglycerides should be half of cholesterol, LDL creates damage to vessel wall - should be in 100's. Use carnitine 2gm per day to normalize both.

High cholesterol: All patients with high LDL are advised to undergo lifestyle modifications such as weight loss, aerobic exercise, and eating a healthy diet. Deciding on whom to treat with medications is based on estimating a patient's cardiovascular risk. It is advised to you talk to your physician regarding advised treatment or have online inbox consultation with us for recommendations and next steps.

What causes high ldl?

What causes high ldl?

Many Considerations: Ldl can be elevated for a variety of reasons. Your physician will need to check for several inherited and acquired medical conditions that can affect LDL levels. Another alternative is to see a lipidologist (physician specializing in lipid and lipoprotein disorders). You can find a lipidologist at www. Lipidboard. Org (click "verify status", then search your state).

LDL: We generally like LDL to be close to 2.1mm/l. Depending on risk factor profile 2.74 might be ok but getting it lower wouldn't hurt.

My LDL is 141. What does that mean?

Elevated cholesterol: LDL is known as the "bad" cholesterol. Normal for most people is <130. Elevated levels are associated with heart disease but giving you your young age you can probably start with lifestyle changes. You should discuss it further with your doctor.

My LDL is 216 can I do gym at night?

Yes: It sounds like a great idea. Let your personal physician know first whether you need to be screened for coronary artery atherosclerosis. Stop doing fitness stuff if you have angina-type chest pain or something similar or you feel unwell.

My clorestrol is 237 and LDL is 162?

My clorestrol is 237 and LDL is 162?

Need Information: Both labs and risk factors are important in knowing cardiovascular (cvd) risk. More than cholesterol, cvd is related to the number of LDL (ldl-p) and HDL particles (hdl-p). Because cholesterol in LDL and HDL particles is highly variable cholesterol levels often disagree with particle number. When cholesterol and particle number disagree cvd risk tracks with ldl-p and hdl-p, not ldl-c or hdl-c.

My LDL came back 2.74 mmol/l is this ok?

Probably, if no CAD: Low density lipoprotein can be expressed in mmol/l or mg/dl. Most of us are acquainted with the latter. 2.74 mmol/l converts to 106 mg/dl. For the general population, treatment of LDL doesn't begin until over 160 (or 190) mg/dl and goal is to lower to under 130. For those at high risk of coronary disease, goal is 100, and those who have proven cad, goal is further reduced to 70 mg/dl.

What do you think about for lowering ldls?

What do you think about for lowering ldls?

Statins and diet: While exercise and dietary changes can certainly impact the ldl, statins are the most widely accepted prescription to truly lower the LDL and decrease the risk for heart disease and stroke. You can help your cholesterol by raising your HDL but the research is very firm that lowering your LDL is paramount to decreasing your overall risk. Speak with your doctor about the best combination therapies.

Medications: Not speaking about you specifically, but it would be very hard to bring your LDL down to goal without medication. Keep a diet low in fat and cholesterol and high in fiber, and exercise regularly, but discuss medications with your doctor as well.

At age 29 LDL is 133. Is it ok or problematic?

At age 29 LDL is 133. Is it ok or problematic?

Too high.: Cholesterol is a risk factor that affects the body with respect to time. So having an elevated LDL cholesterol at such a young age cannot be ignored. That being said, I would prefer you lowering it through diet and exercise rather than by starting medication at such a young age. But it needs to be lower.
