I had an ACL reconstruction 6 months ago. After finishing PT my Dr said the graft is too long and my knee is unstable. Should I do another surgery ?

If it is 2 long-: -it's probably non functioning. Only way to get stability is to have it redone. Whether you should have a re do,it's up 2 you. If you can get by with a brace fine, but @ your age having it redone can save your knee from further damage from the instability. If it were me I would go for it. ...Read more

Prob not: Hard to say w/ limited information and no physical exam... But if you have pain in your knees coming down hills that sounds like' kneecap' pain.See an ors ( orthopedist ) before you embark on marathon training. Some people who are ' malaligned' @ the knee will not be able to tolerate the training involved to run a marathon... If u are set on running find a 'flat' course and train accordingly ...Read more

Regardless, if your pain has improved and your doctor has not found anything, but knee feels unstable, specific exercises and pt may help.
