Patellar issue: Hello! This sounds like a patellar issue and may be either patellar tracking syndrome (pts) or late osgood schlatter (o.S.) depending on where the pain is. If over tibial tubercles, o.S., and you will need rest from heavy exerciser for about six weeks. May be mechanical: You will need clarification. Usually with arthritis the knee can hurt when you are walking but there are certain types that are better when you walk. If you knee is normal, the pain can come from injured muscle and fascia in your thigh/leg. The injured areas will be tender, and there will be at least one ropey cord of muscle with knots in it. This pain is called myofascial pain. Seek a massage therapist, physical therapist who can do dry needling, or an accupuncturiest.
