Internal drgmt: Obviously it is hard to be sure. But is sounds like a
possible meniscal tear which could be catching
in the knee. Sometimes there is not much swelling
or obvious injury.
Suggest orthopedic exam and possible MRI scan. ...Read more

Need to be examined: When you have swelling and trouble bending it, you may have injured an internal structure in the knee. The inability to straighten it could be damage to your knee cartilage (meniscus) as well as your inability to put weight on it. You will need an exam to evaluate your ligaments (ACL, MCL, LCL) and to see if the swelling is from the joint. ...Read more

Meniscus tear?: Your symptoms of pain w/ squatting , twisting and turning associated w/ swelling may indicate a meniscus( cartilage) tear.The meniscus can tear as we get older w/minimal trauma as the water content diminishes and it becomes more 'brittle' and less 'elastic '. Meniscal injury: Honestly, it sounds a whole lot like the symptoms that are commonly reported with meniscal tears or strains. It seems you already have experience with previous meniscal tear- does this feel familiar? Did you specifically injure it or did it just start hurting out of the blue?You need your doc to examine the knee and perform some tests and maybe an MRI before formulating a treatment plan. ...Read more

Go see PCP: Your symptoms of pain, swelling, tenderness, and decreased range of motion are suggestive of inflammation. It can be as benign as a tendinitis if you recently did some strenuous exercising, or more serious if you are having fevers (it can be sign of infection or gout). ...Read more

Rest: For overuse injuries it's best to take a break for a few days. Cold packs will help to reduce swelling and pain but be careful not to put frozen objects directly on the skin (bags of frozen peas work really well). You can also use an anti-inflammatory medication for a few days. ...Read more

See details.: This is obviously not a normal result from what i assume to be arthroscopic surgery. You should not still need a brace and should not be in pain. Calf swelling can be secondary to phlebitis or the rupture of a popliteal cyst among other causes. Get a 2nd opinion. I would strongly recommend a new MRI if you have not recently had one done. ...Read more

Too early to tell: Give time with little ambulation, ice packs followed by heat, allow time for swelling to go down and pain may go away. If it does not see a doctor. ...Read more

Recommend Eval: With knee pain lasting a month, swelling and stiffness I would recommend you have the knee looked at. There are several possible causes to your symptoms; some that may be more concerning then others. Your knee may need to be drained (fluid removed).
