Prob Normal: Breastfed babies normal stool are usually yellow ; pasty in consistency, ; often malodorous. Babies have limited gut microbes at birth. Babies born vaginally acquire good healthy microbes/bacteria during birth from birth canal that those born by c-section miss. Breastfed babies acquire good microbes from mom's from nursing. For what reason might it be that opiates cause itching and headaches?

Side effects: Opiates cause a type of cell, called a mast cell to release histamine which causes the skin to itch and is treated with anti-histamines such as vistaril (rx) or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (otc). As for the headaches this must be a side effect that you get as many times we treat headaches with opiates. Withdrawal from opiates can cause headaches as well as other signs and symptoms.

See your doctor: This is not normal. This could be many things - a stomach problem, a central nervous system (brain) problem, pediatric migraines. There are other, less likely, but potentially more serious conditions that could cause these symptoms... You need to get him to a doctor to get this checked out.

If no trauma then..: .. likely some retinal occlusion problem or ocular migraine -- Ocular migraines tend to occur to the same eye and continue to do so. Please get yourself to a neurologist. If you do not have pain behind the eyeball, then perhaps it is only a fluke pain on the right orbit. But only seeing a healthcare professional can tell you.

What is the physiological reason people get headaches?

What is the physiological reason people get headaches?

Oversize question!: The physiological reasons are far too numerous to cover in less than a huge book. Causes can be hormonal, water retention, aneurysms or anything that stretches the meninges, tumors, high blood pressure (stretching blood vessels), and many mechanical reasons incl muscle tension, etc. A good osteopathic dr can, via a full history & physical, incl. Hands-on exam, help determine cause & potential fixes.
