If chronic , it can be related to a systemic cause such as autoimmune disorders (lupus), or age-related degenerative cause (osteoarthritis). If is is self-limited, a minor injury may be the cause. If X-rays R -,: that means the injury 2 the AC joint is a grade 1, meaning it was "jammed" but no structural damage was seen. This is a joint active in all shoulder & arm motion, & can B "sprained" like any other joint. Doing nothing now is the best plan. Give it time & C if it clears. If it persists B re-evaled. Difficult to say...: Rashes are undeniably one of the most difficult diagnoses without some visual input. Bumps near joints that go away with Benadryl (diphenhydramine) does not sound serious, bur certainly seems bothersome.
