Hernia or Lymph Node: Most common masses in the groin are an inguinal hernia or lymph node. If it is painful and increases with straining it's most likely a hernia which should be fixed surgically. If it's a lymph node and does not improve in one week he should see his family doctor.

When changing my baby's diaper I found a lump in his groin. What could this be?

Hard to say: A lump in the groin could be an enlarged inguinal lymph node, which can occur after a diaper rash or healing sore of the legs. Occassionally a testicle will retract into the inguinal canal and can be felt there. Inguinal hernias can also present this way. Best to have it checked to be certain.

Tender Mass: Hi, one of the barriers with children is they cannot always tell you what they are feeling, or what happened. A seemingly tender lump in the groin could be a lymph node, a hernia, an undescended teste, or abscess, I suggest a call to his pediatrician or visit to the er or urgent care for eval by trained professional. Good luck.

What causes "shotty" lumps in groin?

What causes "shotty" lumps in groin?

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.

What could a painful lump on groin be?

Infection, lymphoma,: A painful lump in the groin can be an enlarged lymph node. Can shaving the groin area cause a painless lump?

Depends: Your hair may be ingrown because it is curly and that may cause the problem. Other causes of bumps in the groin area may have to do with the lymph nodes and infections. See your doctor if it is larger than an ingrown hair.

3 CM lump in the left groin area is probably what?

3 CM lump in the left groin area is probably what?

See a doctor but: It sounds like it could be an inguinal hernia. Other possibilities include abscess (infection), swollen lymph node, fungal infection, or varicocele/hydrocele. A physical exam could likely sort it out, and if it is a hernia that is causing pain or symptoms you may need surgery to fix it. Good luck!
