See ORS: Sharp occasional pains in your hip 'flexor' w / no recent hx of injury could be the earliest manifestations of hip arthritis . Groin pain w/ walking is common w/ people w/ oa of their hip. That's odd...: It is extremely unusual to be diagnosed with MS at age 66. Especially the relapsing-remitting type, which Copaxone (glatiramer) treats. I recommend seeing an MS subspecialist to confirm the diagnosis. Second, without examining you it's hard to know why your walking changed, and what to do about it. Thirdly, even if you do have MS, it doesn't protect you from other diseases which could change your walking. ...Read more

Time to see the doc: A sports med doc can help you with this issue. A thorough history and exam coupled with x-rays and potentially other forms of imaging will help confirm or exclude the causes. My 13 year son has an avulsion hip flexor. Our doctor said 2 weeks of crutches and then start walking on it. Should he not do stretches and or physio.

Rest: The rest period is to allow for healing. Once the doc says he can start walking (which is good physic) he can do light stretching. Once he's off the crutches ask the doc about a PT assessment/referral then. ...Read more

I would recommend a number I and vascular studies to determine the diagnosis. Hip pain: vague to say hip. Is pain in the butt area, the groin, or the outside of the hip? There are different sources for pain in each of these. If the outside of the hip area, you have trochanteric bursitis whichcan be treated with cold packs and medication but may require steroid injections and physical therapy.
