My Hands Are Clawed
A few years ago went to emerg with resp of 40 heart rate 90 and carpopedal spasm, my hands were clawed inward and couldn't move arms. Stroke? Mi?
Not necessarily...: Carpopedal spasm could have happened as a result of acute loss of co2, when you were hyperventilating for some reason; especially if your muscles were sensitized (genetically, or chemically/pharmacologically) a reversible "mini stroke" is a possible diagnosis, but it has to be supported by other findings. Various causes of: such type of acute cramping. May be due to electrolyte deficiencies/imbalance. Eg. not enough potassium. Some blood pressure meds can cause decrease in potassium. See your PCP.
