It is fairly common to have swollen bumps in the labia and external vagina due to blocked glands, ingrown hairs, boils, etc. and they can become infected. It does sound : Like classic hip pain. Have you had an x-ray to id the problem? Arthritis? Fracture? The good news is that hip replacement, if indicated, can bring dramatic pain relief-even including post-op pain.
