There are numerous: causes of burning neck pain. The most likely cause is simple muscle tension. The muscles of the posterior neck really get a constant workout holding up your head all the time! Don't scratch.: That may sound like a flippant answer, but the more you scratch, the worse it gets, right? Try over-the-counter Hydrocortisone cream and something with menthol and phenol in it, such as sarna lotion. Take Allegra (fexofenadine) 180mg once a day. If that doesn't work, you'll need to see a dermatologist and get a precise diagnosis, but do whatever you have to do to refrain from scratching. ...Read more

?Reflux Dx: "burning" after eating (and at times even drinking) could be heart burn or gerd (gastroesophogeal reflux disease).
