Check with Doctor: If you were prescribed a medication and are having any potential side effects, it is best to check in with the prescribing doctor. That way, if he or she feels that the medication needs to be stopped, they can also start you on a replacement as this is an antibiotic.

I went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago because of foot pain, and it still hurts. What could be the problem?

Broad Differential: To help nail down the likely cause a few questions need to be answered. What were the circumstances surrounding the beginning of the problem- any connection to your activities? Is there any back/leg pain? Are there any associated neurologic symptoms such as pins and needles or numbness? Has this happened before and is there any involvement of the other foot? I would advise a reeval.

2nd opinion: Get a 2nd opinion from another doctor. I always tell my patients if they are not happy with my care that I don't get offended if they seek another opinion.

Do custom orthotics help chronic foot pain? I got a new set two days ago. I'm being careful to not wear them too long but they hurt.

Do custom orthotics help chronic foot pain? I got a new set two days ago. I'm being careful to not wear them too long but they hurt.

There is a: "break in period" which you should of been instructed about. Generally speaking, I inform patients to wear them an hour the first day and double the time each successive day. There may be uncomfortablility but there should not be pain...If painful, consult with your dispensing physician.....

Varies: There are a number of potential cause including inflammatory, arthritic, and posttraumatic causes. There are a number of small joints, tendons, and nerves in the area. Don't hesitate to see a foot specialist for an accurate diagnosis and to discuss treatment options.

I have foot pain when I step on it. I did not hurt it though. What should I do? I started having pain on the 18th of march 2012.I am not able to run or balance on that foot. Also it is my right foot.

It's: It's hard to give you a meaningful answer without knowing what part of your foot hurts, how the pain feels, and whether there is any redness or swelling. But whatever is up, it's not normal, so the best advice I can give you is to see a podiatrist, get an x-ray and a good examination, and I'm sure you'll be back on your feet again soon. Good luck!

Foot pain for 6 months on and off, started wide spread across ball of foot, now situated nearer big toes but on ball of foot. Weight bearing hurts?

Morton's neuroma: It is a thickening of the tissues around the nerve in the foot. Typically causes pain in the ball of the foot. Avoidance of high-heeled shoes may help. Have your foot evaluated by a physician for pain that has persisted for a few days - a few months in your case.

Lately foot pain in TOP of feet just below toes, especially after sitting for a while. Also noticed heels that usually comfy hurt to wear now. Why?

Rule out fracture: You need to have a 3 view x-ray of your foot and possibly see a podiatrist to advice you on orthotic devices. I recommend to stay off heels for now and wear comfortable shoes.

I have foot pain in my right foot inner on the side, it has swollen up and hurts to massage it. My upper back on the right around neck also hurts.?

I have foot pain in my right foot inner on the side, it has swollen up and hurts to massage it. My upper back on the right around neck also hurts.?

Bone or tendon prob: Most common cause of medial foot pain and swelling is either tendonitis or partial tear of the posterior tibial tendon. Classically it hurts when you raise up on your toes. In the same area u could have a symptomatic accessory navicular bone. U need to be examined, xrayeed +- MRI to tell what problem is. The back/neck pain is probably unrelated but could be part of an inflammatory arthritis pictur.

No injury to back or feet! Having severe foot pain on one foot and numb big toe on the other! It hurts on my back to. What should I do to help?

No injury to back or feet! Having severe foot pain on one foot and numb big toe on the other! It hurts on my back to. What should I do to help?

BACK/FOOT RELATED?: You're young, but you can still have back problems. Maybe a job with lots of lifting, carrying children can add stress to the back. You don't need an actual injury. There is a large nerve coming out of your back, getting smaller and smaller until it ends in your toes. So, I would start with your back. An orthopedist specializing in spine/back problems, a neurosurgeon, or a chiropractor can help.

Is back surgery for a trapped nerve dangerous. Will my foot pain go away. I have a chronic damaged s1and s2 nerve. Foot hurts when standing?

Is back surgery for a trapped nerve dangerous. Will my foot pain go away. I have a chronic damaged s1and s2 nerve. Foot hurts when standing?

Back surgery: There is risk with all surgery and certainly true when surgery is performed near your spinal nerves. The decision to move forward with surgery should only come after extensive discussion with your neurosurgeon, clearly outlining risks versus potential benefits. When the risk not having surgery becomes greater than risk of the surgery itself, it is time to move forward.

Not sure what I did to my foot but I have bpttem of heel, and side of foot pain. Swollen and bruised. What should I do? Hurts worse with weight on it

Not sure what I did to my foot but I have bpttem of heel, and side of foot pain. Swollen and bruised. What should I do? Hurts worse with weight on it

Heel pain: If no history of injury, it might be inflammation of the fascia in the bottom of the foot. If there was injury associated with it need to rule out sprain or fracture of little bones in the foot

Black bruise on inner thigh just appeared no reason leg hurts real bad and swollen with extreme foot pain?

Extreme pain: Should always be checked out. In my differential diagnosis would be a clot which requires you to go to the emergency room.....Better be safe than sorry....A clot could potentially kill you....
