How could I of gained 7 lbs. In 1 week when I take exercise class 3 days a week and haven't changed eating habits.?
Overall health: There is no special diet a kidney donor has to follow. I recommend common sense and overall health maintainence. Don't put yourself at risk for kidney problems. Therefore maintain a healthy weight to avoid adult onset diabetes and problems with hypertension. Don't smoke. Watch cholesterol. Exercise.See 1 more doctor answer
Diligence: Only you can really answer that question. Dr's can tell you what to eat, but only you can do it. If you want to change your eating habits, write down a food diary of things you would like to eat and those you would not. Be diligent, be regimented, and follow the "good" diet!
Starts with desire!: See your primary care doctor first to get a check-up. Then, follow the mediterranean diet, daily physical activity 300 minutes per week for life. Reduce alcohol intake to 1 glass of wine 3-4 times per week. Avoid unsaturated fats, eat lots of good fats, eat and drink well in moderation. Eat protein at all meals and do not skip meals!
Start with food list: Keep a daily record of what is eaten. If little time, then use your phone or camera to take a photo. After a few days, look at the images and consider sharing them with a friend or a professional. There are also apps to help people change habits. But the first best step is to note what you are putting in your mouth each time you eat :0.See 3 more doctor answers
That depends: You burn about 100 calories per mile that you walk. How fast are you walking? If you walk 3 miles in a day - you can burn about 300 calories. You need to burn about 3, 500 calories to lose one pound. So - it is possible to lose weight if you are burning more calories than you are taking in.
I have tiny bites all over my body. This happened 2 weeks ago and again just now. Nothing has changed in my routine or eating habits. Very very itchy?
Insects vs allergies: Hard to say what you have without a proper history and physical. This could be anything from insect bites to a contact dermatitis. See a doctor in person or get a video/phone consult so someone could take a look at it, . Anything from scabies to poison ivy. The differential is large.
Woops: You just described change inbowel habits that could mean cancer, please have this examined by a gastroenterologist soon.
21 days!: You could change your eating habit starting today. It has been said that it takes about 21 days to form a new habit. By continuing to eat in a new way day after day, it is going to be hard not to eat in the same way after about 3 weeks. But it's up to you to start that process today.
Eating habits: It is possible. Need to be willing to do it.
Behavior Change: First it is advisable to have a physical exam to find out if there is any illness. If not then it would be good to consult with a Clinical Psychologist to get help. Medication might also be useful.
Dry Skin?: Generalized itching without skin rash most commonly caused by dry skin. Most seen in the winter and in older people, it is characterized by itching in areas of dry, scaly skin. Lab work can check if there is an underlying cause: CBC/diff, liver/renal function tests, and thyroid workup. Treat with daily moisturzation and better skin hygiene. Non-sedating antihistamines for itch. Unsure about nauseaSee 1 more doctor answer
2 1/2 yrs old hypractiv son. Severe eating problems as he drinks milk only. Pl guide to change his eating habits so that he takes solids.
This is complicated: I think you need a pediatrician or pediatric psychologist's help. One thing I can help here is that many kids who drink a lot of milk have iron deficiency. Interestingly iron deficient kids do not want eat solids. Once we treat them with iron, their personality changes and they start eating regular foods. I would recommend that you take your son to a doctor to test if he is iron deficient or not.
