My Ears Feel Full
Earache: Is drainage from ear or nose/throat? May be "swimmer's ear" infxn of outer canal (try otc products for that & heat to ear) or middle ear infxn or eustachian tube inflammation (for latter 2 conditions, otc decongestant like sudafed may help alleviate symptoms). If not better in couple days, or if worse, see fp/ent for exam. Remember: no q-tips in ear canals! ...Read more

For 4 Days my ears feel full and stuffed. I am taking a decongestant but it is doing nothing. No pain; just when talking it sounds hollow?
Eustachian tube: The sensation of ear fullness and decreased hearing can be related to blockage of the eustachian tube (the tube that runs from your middle ear space to the back of your nose) or from fluid which has accumulated in the middle ear space. Decongestants can sometimes help, but occassionally nasal steroids or antibiotics are required. ...Read more

Current cold etc??: There is a large lymph system/branch on either side of the neck/jaw areas and they are like the garbage collectors of the body as well as other lymph node areas in the body. They can swell or feel swollen (tight) when a patient is going through a cold or has just at a cold, allergies ets. Ears full is a good indication that something systemic (system wise) is going on as well. I'd see you MD. ...Read more

I currently have a cold, and my left ear feels full. I can't hear very well out of it. Would cleaning out the wax help relieve the fullness?
No: The fullness you are feeling is likely pressure behind your ear drum. It is the Eustachian tube that often fills with fluid and is swollen. If you try Valsava maneuvers to try to open up the Eustachian tube it may help. Blowing into a blocked straw or puffing out your checks, holding your breath and swallowing might help. All the best and I hope you feel better. ...Read more

When I blow my nose, my right ear feels full and pops but with air/water leaking out of my right eye. Is this normal? My left ear is fine
Nose-blowing: Your upper airway connects to your middle ear by the Eustachian tube, and your eye connects via the lacrimal duct. Blowing your nose forces air in both cases - so yes, this is entirely normal. The fullness in your ear may indicate fluid/congestion in your ear, or an ear infection (if pain and fever). ...Read more
Try saline: I am not aware of any home remedies that specifically treat ear fullness. The sensation may be temporary, lasting a few hours to a day or two. Could last longer, particularly if you have nasal congestion from a cold or allergies. Try saline to clear nasal mucus and decrease nasal congestion. You may also want to see your primary provider for additional therapy. ...Read more

Been coughing up mucous and a running nose for about a month and for 2 weeks my ears started to feel full and with a high pitch ring what is this?
Upper respiratory: You should be evaluated for allergies, and get a good explanation of possible causes, like environmental, animals, etc. Many patients have "cough variant asthma", not classic "wheezing". A sinus infection can occure in inflamed nasal and sinus tissues, which often requires care which can't be done with otc meds. Mucous may cover the tube in the throat leading to ear symptoms and ringing. ...Read more
My left ear were I had a ear infection is gone but now my right ear now feels full can my ear infection have moved to my other ear?
Nasal blockage: Given a history of asthma, you likely have hay fever as well. The nasal swelling leads to obstruction at the tubes ventilating the inner ear leading to fluid in the ear.
