The : The only way that hearing can become compromised is if the patient has excessive "cupping" or large deep round conchal bowl (inner concave portion of external ear) and the surgeon retropositions the ear too much, then there is anterior movement of the of the concha which can block the external meatus (ear canal opening). I'm 39 & I've noticed a change in the Shape of my skull. The flat area @ my crown is a deeper dent & I have a ridge behind both ears? Causes/concerns?

Should not change: Once the skull has finished growing which is no later than 25 years old there should be no change in the skull shape. Behind the ears, the skull does feel like ridges. A further indentation at the crown area would indicate possibly some new bone growth. There are some disorders in which this occurs but they are not usually selective to just the skull. Paget's is one. See your MD and be checked. ...Read more
