Bruxism not ears: Bruxism does not cause an ear infection. Bruxism has nothing to do with an ear infection. You do not wear a mouth appliance for an ear infection. If you have or had an ear infection see a medical doctor as the dentist does not treat ears. ...Read more

I have psoriasis in my ear and it is inflamed,  I am using synalar (fluocinolone) otic.  I am in pain, what can I do to bring the swelling down, and relieve the pain?

Sounds like infected: The pain and swelling could be caused by a bacterial or other infection. Those symptoms are not usually caused by the psoriasis. An anti-inflammatory might help the pain and swelling, but i think it'd be best to get medical attention. You might need an oral antibiotic or other precription medication(s). ...Read more

Stop: The short answer is to stop cleaning your ears, especially if you are referring to using cotton swabs in the canals. The swabs themselves can cause irritation and trauma and may cause pain as the canal and especially the ear drum are quite pain sensitive. If you feel the skin of your ear canals is dry you may put in a drop or two of something like sweet oil or tea tree oil once in awhile. ...Read more

E Coli in ear canals: E Coli is the most common bacteria found in the GI tract, i.e. in feces. So, somehow you got that in your ears, perhaps from contaminated water. Maybe from a bathtub, or swimming in untreated water. Check your water supply for contamination. But the good news is it should be easily treatable with prescription antibiotic drops.
