Probably: If you had an abnormal methacholine challenge test - a special type of pulmonary function test - then you probably do have asthma. Sounds like you have a type that is called "extrinsic", meaning it is made worse by allergies. You may only need your ventolin when exposed to triggers you're allergic to. If you can't avoid them, or symptoms become more frequent, you may need additional meds. ...Read more

Other causes..: Airway restriction is not always heard with a steth.. You may have asthma.. You indicate that you have GERD, and Hx of cardiac catheterization.
