My Doctor Said Enhancement On Pancreas Was Not Scary
I just had an ultrasound today. Said results looked bad because it was on the right side. interpretation please? did not say in tube, just on side.
Sorry no imaging: Without the ultrasound image, it would be impossible to determine what was meant. You will need to ask them what was meant by that. Normally if they say the right side it signifies the ftube. Did they tell you to see your gyn immediately. Please ask for details ...Read more
Abdominal organ. It is digestive organ: it secretes enzymes into the small bowel which break down food and help its absorption. It is also an endocrine organ: it produces hormones involved in sugar control and control of digestion. Insulin is one of these hormones. Diabetics either lack Insulin (type 1 diabetes) or have inadequate ...Read more
Today i noticed on the results of my head mri, said history of encephalopathy but my neuro never mentioned anything about it. Should i be concern?
My doctor said today i was borderline for autonomic neuropathy he said it was rite on the border line but he would not worry about it? What to think?
How can I check my self for a hernia? Report from Ct scan didn't say I had 1 but my doctor looked at it and said he saw 1? So confused.....
See a surgeon: I suggest you see a local, responsible surgeon, preferably a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. An exam by said specialist would help confirm or exclude a hernia. A cheaper and better exam for hernia, besides physical exam, is ultrasound, but I wouldn't pursue that at this time. Good luck. ...Read more
Dr said breast lump was big and with echo he could tell if it was an adenoma, now says i need another scan because hes not sure?
Complete the workup: What led to the original ultrasound? Was it an abnormal exam or mammogram? Please see your doctor and get a complete breast evaluation. Depending on the mammogram results (and make sure the mammography has your ultrasound images!), further workup may be necessary, possibly including mri. If the findings are not completely benign, a biopsy to look at tissue under the microscope is required. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
My dr read the wrong MRI results. Mine showed a bone lesion. I let him know of the mistake but he never addressed the lesion. Should i worry?
Be kind: Doctors are human and can make mistakes. How they react to such realization is very important. I would in a very kind way return for a visit and ask for a re-review of your MRI and considerations of its meaning. I am confident it will be a good team building effort. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Had ctdone, dr called said my appendix was bigger than it was on prior scan put me on 2 antibiotics 2500mg a day, is this appendicitis? Dr was not sure
My daughter has a lump on her salivatory gland that three doctors felt and said it was some type of tumor, but MRI showed nothing. What should we do?
See ENT: If the physicians you consulted did not give you a clear, satisfactory diagnosis and treatment recommendation, you could consult with an ear, nose and throat doctor ent (oto laryngologist), who might provide a better help. Various kinds of x ray machines don't always clearly show these kinds of growths. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
My ob/gyn said i had an adrenal mass but in the next sentence said i had a mass on my ovary , what does he mean?
Hard to say: Your adrenal glands sit on top of your kidneys and are far away from your ovaries. Are you sure your doctor didn't say "adnexal mass?" you should feel comfortable asking your physician this; you do not want to have any confused idea when it comes to your health. If you do not feel comfortable discussing your health concerns with your own doctor, you should consider finding a new physician. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Had MRI on my enlarged thymus, the doc said on our on balance decision after MRI scan would be for a thymectomy! but he has not told me why?
Depends: Depends on what the exact diagnosis is. If myasthenia gravis, thymectomy may be curative. Generally patients may demonstrate 1. Cure, 2. Asymptomatic on medications, 3. Stable symptoms on medications and/or decreased medications. This link may help: http://goo.Gl/3xxmd. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I have ra, i had a mass on my chest, so they did ct-guided needle biopsy where the thymus is! doc has told me its not sarcoid, but could be lymphoma?
Thymus: May be the source of the mass, and it could be invasive ornon-invasive. Thymomais associated with rheumatologic/auto-immune conditions. Lymphoma is another prospect, more rare are germ cell tumors (teratoma) and substernal thyroid. Sarcoid can involve any node bearing areas. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I had a cat scan today, i was sent home as dr said i was fine. But when i read my report it says:minimal pleural-based modularity right lower lobe?
Incidental finding: It probably says minimal pleural-based nodularity. This is likely an incidental finding of the ct scan that almost certainly is nothing to worry about in the long run. Having said that, many recommend followup imaging for these nodules in 3-6 months to make sure it is not growing. I would check with your physician what the appropriate followup, if any, is. ...Read more
Should I be worried about my cholesterol levels? Dr. didn't even mentioned it, he just handed me the results.

Had a U/S on Wed. Tech saw 3cm cyst she told me bc I am a MA. Dr wants to discuss results. If it were a functional cyst would dr say so on phone?
You must see your do: Doctor who ordered test must explain test and do not relly on technician. This cyst is probable benign, but you must be 100% sure, and your doctor is the one to give you an answer. ...Read more
I had CT of my chest doc said lungs look good but my one lym not was swollen in my chest what could that be he said not cancer?
I had an egd for reflux. The dr told my wife that he found a very tiny stricture while he was there and ballooned it out.He said it was nothing to worry about and didn't take a biopsy. Now I'm worried?
Discuss worries: It is always best to discuss your worries with the Dr. who did the EGD. The stricture ismore a tightening of the area and through a visual inspection during the EGD may not have any thing in particular to biopsy, but simply more an area that needed to be dilated-which the Dr. Did. Worry will only increase the chances of increasing acid so stop worrying and simply discuss with Doc. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I was told that the doc.will explain my kidney blood test to me and this was unusually,i met the doctor but he said it was 100 percent ok.i am on bp m?
Sounds okay: I'm guessing that you had one of these modern lab tests that estimates glomerular filtration rate from creatinine, race, and other stuff. This is subscientific and if your physician told you to forget about it, so much the better. If I've misunderstood, please write back to the physician team here and explain. Thanks. ...Read more
Doctor said to my dad he have colon cancer but the biopsy result was ok it show that is just polip. His blood test was ok aswell. What we should do now?
Repeat colonoscopy: Unless the pathology report comes back on the polyp as showing malignancy, he will need to have a follow-up colonoscopy to look for new polyps in the future (1-3 years). The timing will depend on risk factors, such as a history of ulcerative colitis, strong family history, completeness of colonoscopy, biopsy findings. If the pathology shows cancer, he should see a colorectal or general surgeon. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
