Glucose : Glucose levels above about 160 will cause increased urination and thirst. We usually aim for a metformin dose of 2000 mg. You are on a very low dose. Check with your doctor about going up on the dosage in view of your sugar readings. I suggest you monitor your sugar before meals and bedtime. Don't test after meals for now and share these sugar results with your doctor. It takes several days to see the results of a given dose of metformin.
