My Creatinine Is High
I'm a 65 female . I wanted to know if my bun is 7 and creatinine is 71 .. Is this ok I thought my bun was to low and my creatinine was high .. Thank ?
Are you sure?: Are you sure creatinine is 4? Or maybe .4? If it is 4 then this is a medical emergency and you need to be seen by a Nephrologist(kidney doctor specialist) as soon as possible or ED if new. If this is the case there is nothing else we can recommend over this media to make that better since multiple things might be happening. You might even need emergency dialysis. If it is 0.4 then it is normal. ...Read more
Strong kidneys!: It sounds like your kidneys are working normally. That's what they're supposed to do -- clear metabolic products like creatinine from the blood, dumping it into the urine. The urine level might be especially high if you haven't been drinking lots of fluids lately, i.e. if the urine is relatively concentrated. In any case, this is a good sign, nothing to worry about. ...Read more
My creatinine levels are high. The dr. Says my kidneys are stressed. What can I do to help my kidneys?
Drink lots of water: In meantime, stop taking otc pain medications like Ibuprofen & naproxen. Also review your medications w/your doctor & pharmacist looking for kidney irritants. Then go see your doctor again for repeat testing. If creatinine level remains high (chronic kidney disease), it's time for a more thorough investigation including ultrasound of kidneys looking for stones & damage. ...Read more
My creatinine came back high and my ANA came back slightly positive in my blood tests , are these related? What does both mean?
I am suffering from psoriasis on my hands and head.I took medication for LNG time now.but recently I got to know that my bp is 170\90 because my creatinine level is high that is 3.3. My doctor said this may be due to prolong usage of psoriasis medicine.m
My serum creatinine is high 1.43 (normal up to 1.2 ) serum urea 22 (normal up to 45) urine analysis normal no hypertension no diabetes ?
See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, as I mentioned earlier, if you are a muscular man engaged in regular physical activity, a creatinine of 1.43 may not be abnormal. Please consult a nephrologist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Have hypogammaglobulinanemia. Furth test-pretty low IgG and iga, but IgM not detected, lt chains norm. Cbc-my creatinine high, calc. Low, rbc's low, RDW low, MCV high, MCH high, mpv low. Back/hip pain?
Too complex here: Your question is too complex to answer in a few sentences with little information you provide. When there is hypogammaglobulinemia, you should see a well trained immunologist. It could be primary immunodeficiency or it could be secondary due to protein loss in urine since you mention you have kidney disease. Protein losing nephropathy can cause igg loss too. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Decrease in flow.: Bun=blood urea nitrogen, byproduct of proteins ingested, if rise to high levels due to kidney problem, can cause toxic affects on the body. Creatinine= measurement of renal function. Normal bun/cr ratio about 10. The higher that ratio, the more likely it is not intrinsic kidney disease per se, but reduction in blood flow or volume to kidney, like when on strong diuretic-prerenal-reversible. ...Read more
My doctor told me my creatinine level is too high and we should decrease the Prograf dose. What problem can a high creatine level cause?
Creatinine elevation: Creatinine, produced by muscle cells,is not toxic. The level in blood is a marker of kidney function. Increased level usually indicates reduced kidney function. Prograf is an extremely important medication for transplant patients to prevent immune rejection but can cause toxicity to kidneys. The dose has to be adjusted within a very narrow range to try to prevent both rejection and kidney injury. ...Read more
Sir please help me.. My uncle has high creatinine level, is baking soda is a good home dremedy for it?Thank you sir
Kidney disease: This requires knowledge of the cause of the kidney failure and the value of serum electrolytes. Even if acidosis is present you can't home remedy it by given quantities of baking soda without knowing the precise amount of sodium bicarbonate you're administering and daily measuring of electrolytes. The physician or nephrologist who knows the case is best qualified to render proper care and followup ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

It depends: If you're a well-muscled or just a husky / big man, this is normal. When i was lifting weights every day, mine ran 1.6-1.7. You're a person, not a bunch of numbers. You'll even find labs that will give an adjustment for people of african descent "because black people are more muscular." this is subscience. Stop worrying. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
It depends: When i was lifting weights daily, my creatinine hovered around 1.7 mg/dl; elite bodybuilders may be as high as 2.0. Today's fads / liability concerns turn all well-muscled men into instant nephrology patients. Otherwise, a high creatinine in a relatively young person who seems healthy is often worth investigating in search of subtle kidney disease. Best wishes. ...Read more
It depends/can vary.: The standard reference ranges for serum creatinine are 0.5 to 1.0 mg/dl (about 45-90 ?mol/l) for women and 0.7 to 1.2 mg/dl (60-110 ?mol/l) for men. These can vary. For example, a bodybuilder can have a creatinine level of 2.0 and be healthy, while an elderly female can have a value of 1.2 and have severe renal disease. ...Read more
