Why would a child laugh while being aggressive/attacking parent during a severe temper tantrum? (7 y/o boy with aspergers)

Why would a child laugh while being aggressive/attacking parent during a severe temper tantrum? (7 y/o boy with aspergers)

Part of disorder: Part of the disorder is inappropriate emotional responses to situations.Laughter to a boy with asperger's is not the same laughter as you and I would interpret it. That it what is so hard for all of us to understand with these kids, because we interpret our environment and situations one way, and it's a totally different world and experience for these kids. I was reading at a college level in fifth grade. I have Aspergers and ADHD. I was tested as having an IQ of 90 as a child. Is this possible, or MD?

Reading & IQ: It is best for you to get tested by a clinical psychologist who specializes in learning disorders and Aspergers. Group IQ tests such as given in schools are ok but not nearly as accurate and detailed as a one-to-one w/a pro. Same goes for achievement tests. Whatever the numbers say, just work on being the best person you can be, like the rest of us. Peace and good health. ...Read more

I have 2 kids one has a major heart defect and has aspergers syndrome. My other was born 100% healthy. What are my odds of having another healthy baby?

It Depends: There may be more factors to consider before arriving at reasonably predictable odds. I suggest, you seek out a medical geneticist for your best answer. There are dna tests needed along with a precise history from both sides of the family; then the odds can be calculated. It would, in my opinion, be unethical to give you the answer you want without having much more data. Good luck. ...Read more

Friend told me they have Aspergers from a lack of oxygen when they were a baby. I don't believe them, but I could be wrong. Is this possible?

We don't know the: Exact cause of Aspergers, autism in general, bi-polar or ADHD, even though we have identified genetic markers for all. We do know that if the mother is using drugs while pregnant that the chances go up for the baby to develop any of these, but again, this is NOT a one-to-one correlation. Lack of O2 is correlated with learning disabilities, as well, so it could be a factor. ...Read more
