See a physician: Hello. I would recommend that your baby be seen by a medical provider to make sure that the "cold" hasn't settled into his chest, creating something like pneumonia. Babies don't have the ability to clear their mucus like you and I do, so it's important to have him examined. Also, throwing up can be a sign that it has settled in his chest, too. ...Read more
Burped and it's burned. Spit out blood streaked spit for 10 minutes afterwards. Chest pain.Is this GI or lung related? Could it be blood clot in lung?
Probably GI: given that it began after a burp and burning. Burping may be associated reflux of stomach acid up into the esophagus, causing burning due to the irritation of the delicate lining of the esophagus. This irritation & resulting inflammation can result in bleeding. GI bleeds can be very serious and even life threatening. A blood clot in lung usually causes rapid heart rate and shortness of breath. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is it normal to have phlegm in your chest after a cold or a flu? Mine sometimes makes me spit it out. And sometimes feel can't take deep breath
PRODUCTIVE COUGH: Yes it is normal. Upper respiratory infections produce inflammation of the breathing passages making it difficult for the lungs to clear mucus. The body's response is to cough in an attempt to get rid of the phlegm. Keep hydrated and monitor your symptoms. If they do not improve in the next few days, touch base with your doctor for further advice. ...Read more
Don't bother...: Swallowing mucus is safe. It is difficult for a budding 'early toddler' to have maturity & skills to spit out phlegm. Don't sweat, mucus mixes with the contents of his/her stomach & passes through the digestive system. Some of it is digested and taken up into the body while some of it passes through to be eliminated from the body with stool. ...Read more

May need evaluation: This may be related to nose bleed going down to your lungs. The most common cause of bleeding from lungs is a coughing spell which can break small blood vessels in the bronchial tubes. If the chest hurts it may suggest bronchitis, angina, chest wall pain, and musculoskeletal pain. Is it tender to touch. Good to know that you do not smoke. Further evaluation is necessary if symptoms persists. ...Read more
