Many possible causes: Mastodynia, breast pain could result from dilated ducts and low grade inflammation. Low caffiene, avoid smoking, evening primrose oil (herbal therapy) and proper rest can help. Pregnancy test?: If one is talking about a pregnancy test, she must follow the instructions on the box. If the box says 2 lines means POSITIVE, then having one faint and one dark line may mean there is a baby inside the woman. She can just test again in 5-7 days and if pregnant, she will see a definitely positive home pregnancy test. ...Read more

Intertrigo: You might be suffering from intertrigo (yeast/fungal infection common in warm sweaty skin folds) so solution would be to stay dry eg baby powder or equivalent. Failing that, we would recommend antifungal powder eg nystatin. Still, it's good idea to check w/your Family Doc to make sure it's not something else. Chest wall pain: This is typical chest wall pain and can be due to inflammation where sternum and ribs meet. Also cled costochondtitis. Annoying: This type of reaction of one's breasts to the hormones of the ovary (estrogen, but more significantly, progesterone) is annoying, but unfortunately, normal. If you're overweight, weight loss can help too. Sorry you're going thru. ...Read more

Doctor can recheck: The doctor who started the birth control pills can check. He may check the breasts to be sure they are ok, and he may check for pregnancy. Breast soreness may be from hormones in the pills, so the doctor might wait a little longer on the same pill, or look for another pill, selecting one with low estrogen. Doctors who prescribe birth control pills have experience with a variety of brands or pills. ...Read more

Hard to say: It's possible that you ovulated and did not experience breast soreness, and it's possible you missed the ovulation too.
