My Bowel Movement Is Yellow
I have bowel movement every 3-4 weeks, when I go it's covered with thick yellow mucus, I don't have any discomfort, tried bowel clean, nothing happens?
Cancer Risk: Bile acids are excreted in the stool unchanged in less than 24 hours. However, if the bile acids remain in the body more than 24 hours, they break down into potent carcinogens. Prolonged contact with the intestines and colon result in carcinogenic changes--i.e., bowel cancer. Vitally important to have a bowel movement every day! You need more fiber (psyllium husks), magnesium, and water.
The gastrointestinal tract starts at the mouth, travel down the tunnel (esophagus), which connects to the stomach, which then empties into the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum---the three parts of the small intestine (@25 feet). This empties into the colon or large intestine (about 5 feet), which then becomes the sigmoid colon, rectum and out the anus. So, every morsel eaten ...Read more
Maybe bile, fat: Pale, yellow, foul smelling. Bulky, sticky stools can be seen with fat malabsorption, as may be seen with pancreatic disease, cystic fibrosis, celiac sprue, crohn's disease, olestra use, Alli use (with excess fat intake). Of course, yellow stool could just be that you ate a lot of carrots and squash. If it continues, if you have cramps, weight loss, nausea, pain, etc. See your doc.
A clear yellow color like mocus on toilet papel after bowel movement, Is that Fat out of body or something wrong with it?
Med eval.: Since this is a significant change in bowel habitus, it warrants medical evaluaiton.
Been having large amounts of yellow mucus without any bowel movement. I usually see mucus but never this much. What could it be from?
Sounds irritable: Sometimes excess mucous can be a result of an over active intestinal tract. We typically call this syndrome irritable bowel syndrome (ibs). Other symptoms include alternating episodes of constipation and diarrhea, and cramping. Your physician may be able to help you with symptom control as some medicines have been shown to work in this condition.
My son is 17 months old. He had a bowel movement that that's things mixed in that looked like yellow gel capsules. He has not ate anything different.?
As an expert: In toddler poops, I can tell you the only two kinds of stools we worry about are those that are chalky gray and those that contain blood. The body churns up food, processes it, and our bacteria metabolize bits and pieces, so one can see all kinds of weird stuff in there. Don't let it freak you out.
Not to worry: Possible. Either way I would not be too worried.See 1 more doctor answer
Why do I hav oily yellow subtances befor every bowel movement it yellow and it floots on top on the water and has a bad smell
It: It sounds like you have what is called steatorrhea which means "fatty stools". The yellow stuff is undigested fat. There can be many causes for this ranging from dietary issues to cancers. You should see your primary care doctor or a gastroenterologist to find out what is wrong and solve the problem.

For the past few days my stool has been losse and watery. At first it was yellow then turned orange, I haven't had a bowel movement aswell what is it?
Viral, food related: Watery and loose stools without the fever and abdominal pain could be due to multiple causes. Food poisoning, viral or bacterial gastroenteritis could be some of them. Yellow or orange stool could be secondary to the color of the food: carrots, cilantro, squash, sweet potatoes. Lack of the bile in the stool because of fast passage through the intestine could cause the yellow color too.See 1 more doctor answer
Normal brown stool bowel movement. When wiping it starts brown and changes shades, last wipe is yellowish. Normal? Stool is not yellow.
Normal stool: Normal stool contains many components that vary in appearance and color. If normal stool is spread thin (such as on a microscope slide), a yellow color is completely normal.
Almost every time I have a bowel movement first I pass a lot of mucus (yellow-brown, not clear), the stool is normal. Why that excessive mucus?
Exam - Lab work: To know 'why? ' you need to have an exam and lab work. It's possibly something a bit like IBS, but w/o other symptoms it would luckily be very mild/early. Intestines have glands that make mucus to avoid membrane irritation. See your Dr and follow advice.
Not likely: Yellow stools are generally a sign of fat that hasn't been absorbed but passed through. If anything, Elavil (amitriptyline) will cause constipation, slowed intestinal passage and increased fat absorption, so darker stools. If this condition is truly noticeable, different and persistent, you should speak to a GI expert--and of course let your prescriber know!
I started feeding rice cereal to my 4mth old in addition to breastmilk. His bowel movement is brown and not seedy and yellow. Is that normal?
Baby bowels: Brown, not seedy and not yellow is normal.
Yellow color on toilet paper after bowel movement. Stool is normal light brown color. No other issues, however I do suffer from anxiety and stress.
No problem: Only worry about color if there is red-blood, no color ie pale or white or tarry black. Color changes based on what you eat.See 1 more doctor answer
The shape, color,: Aroma, floating non-floating are not diagnostic, commonly associated with what you eat, but can be clues about inflammatory bowel, pancreas, and even cancerous conditions. Can't solve on healthtap, but an urgent care or pcp will work up your complaint and see if it is worth a medical gastroenteroloist referral.

Are yellow bowel movements anything to be worried about if they only happen every now and again? Can this be the result of fast bowel transit time?
See a doctor: This can happen with some liver conditions. I would see a doctor.
Bile?: The amount, color, frequency of stool varies with foods, speed of emptying of the GI tract, medications & supplements ingested, gut flora (unique for each individual), additives (like blood), subtractions (like absent bile), infection, inflammation, & other factors. If stool pattern has changed, is unusual for you, & the change persists, or is accompanied by other symptoms, see your doctor.
