OK: If you R not on Blood pressure pills its OK for a random number. If you are on BP pills you may need them adjusted. Was this taken by machine or stethescope? Machines are notoriously inaccurate. They blow up until systolic is >200 & UR arm hurts & then surprised when numbers high. Blood pressure is best taken first thing, before getting out of bed. Repeated readings on oneself may show rising blood pressure due to anxiety, exertion during the day and psyching yourself out. The first reading is likely to be the most accurate.

Probably not: Can anyone else in the office see you? Maybe another doctor, or a pa or nurse practitioner could assess the problem. The longer your BP is that high the more likely you will have a problem. It may be that you are getting measurements that are higher than they really are, so bring your cuff to your appointment.
