I am on my feet for 6 hours a day 5 days a week at work. A couple of days ago the ball of my right foot started hurting bad. What is going on?
Pain in forefoot: Metatarsalgia ( forefoot pain ) could be just due to standing for long time. If it persists then you will need x-ray of the foot to rule out stress fracture , fracture of the sesamoid bone, intertarsal bony union or arthritis in one of the small joints. Wearing of broad hard sole shoe may help resolve the problem. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have a swollen knee what do I do? just started playing frisbee again after 5months. played 2 straight days from 6-8pm. then my knee swell a little
Most likely injury: If your knee swelling started right after a lot of physical activity, it's very likely that you sustained a minor injury that is causing your knee to swell even if you don't recall it happening. Put ice on it, take NSAIDS (Motrin or naproxen) and if it doesn't start improving after a few days, be sure to see your regular doctor for further evaluation. You may need to see an orthopedic doc. ...Read more
Achilles pain a few days after twisted ankle. My ankle felt better, however today I started having pain and now it just hurts.
I've had groin pain come and go twice in the last week, each episode lasted a few days. About a week ago i was standing and talking and suddenly had a weird pain in my groin. It progressively got worse throughout the day. I couldn't walk without limping
Another : Another possibility, although you mentioned that you did not think this was related to exercise, is that this could also be the sportman's hernia or sports hernia, gilmore's groin or groin disruption, is a medical condition of the groin affecting athletes. Following physical activity, the person may be stiff and sore, the following day, getting out of bed or a car may be difficult. Any exertion that increases intra-abdominal pressure, such as coughing, sneezing, or sporting activity can cause pain. In the early stages, the person may be able to continue playing their sport, but the problem usually gets progressively worse. As pain in the groin and pelvis can be referred from a number of problems, including injuries to the lumbar spine, the hip joint, the sacro-iliac joint, the abdomen, and the genito-urinary system, diagnosis of athletic pubalgia requires skillful differentiation and pubic examination in certain cases where there is intense groin pain. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Ankle sprain : Most likely, your fall resulted in a sprain, and fracture is much less likely but always possible. Sprains are a soft tissue injury that always seem to take longer to heal than they should. Healing requires rest, ice would have been helpful at first but too late for that now, compression and elevation. An ace bandage can help you remember to stay off your foot. See a doctor if it does not improve ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Got wisdom teeth pulled a week ago and my throat has been hurting for 4 days now?? Didn't start hurting till a few days after surgery

When should i start walking after fifth toe displaced fracture? Ten days and still hurts when i lower my foot. New bruises also sprang up in foot
Maybe a second look.: I would think that ten days is enough time to allow you to walk with some mild to moderate pain. Since you are seeing new bruising something else should be considered. While enjoying the toe fracture, did you fracture something else that is now affecting you recovery. You need to get the foot x-rayed and check for other fractures. Nsaids should take the edge off and perhaps an accommodating shoe. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Yesterday I got a sharp pain on my left foot toe. Happened a few times. Really hurt. What was it?
See a podiatrist: I would suggest that a doctor of podiatric medicine would be a better choice for evaluation of your problem than an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon. Podiatrists evaluate and treat all manner of foot and ankle problems that don't necessarily involve orthopedic (bone and joint) problems. These include skin and nail problems, nerve and circulatory problems as well. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
