Refered pain: Gallstones and an inflamed gallbladder can cause referred pain between the shoulders ( pain is called referred when the actual problem isn't where it hurts). Many possibilities : It sounds like you may have a pinched nerve in your neck, perhaps at the c5 or c6 levels and you may also be developing a secondary frozen shoulder. A few ideas: Burning pain=often nerve pain.Stabbing=usually musculoskeletal.If you have both between shoulders w/more on 1 side, this is common w/ thoracic spine & rib dysfunction.Nerves may be getting stretched or pinched, muscles spasmed, & blood flow compromised.A good history & phys, incl osteopathic hands-on exam may find cause.Treatments may include pain meds, prolotherapy, manipulation,neuroprolo, etc ...Read more
