Probably ok: This is probably ok. It is summertime and hot in most areas of the US now. Be sure and dress him lightly, just a onsie. Check for temperature with a rectal thermometer, if it is over 99.4 undress him completely and recheck it. Sometimes babies just get a bit warm. Many possiblities: Make sure the room isn't too warm. Make sure he isn't over dressed. Or, he might just be someone who sweats easily. In any case, if he's comfortable, eating and growing well, and he wakes up rested, he's probably ok. See below: There are lots of causes for sweating and cardiac disease is one cause. However the lesions you mention should not be causing this. I would make sure no obvious causes like room to warm, over dressed or too many blankets. If not the case you should discuss with the pediatrician to address other causes for the sweating. ...Read more

Can't lose wt: Goblue, I am sorry you are having problems losing weight. Yes: It is typical of an imbalance in the autonomic (automatic) nervous system. By far the commonest cause is the nature of diet, particularly sugar in all its different forms.
