My mom gave my 2 month baby 2oz of water without my permisson, will this put my baby in danger? Im freaking out.
Unnecessary : 50 years ago infants were fed solids early & frequently to make up for deficiencies in the evaporated milk formulas moms made at home. Today early feeds are an antiquated practice & do not add to the child's nutrition. Today solids are viewed as a tutorial to transition baby to the table. Starting at 6m as the tongue thrust fades & baby begins to sit is early enough. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Yes: Baby powder is a simple & effective product. I prefer the non-starch materials. Placing starch on the moist skin of a baby is like setting out food for germs. Beware that babies have developed pneumonia when they inhaled quantities of talcum powder in a changing table accident. Like any effective product can cause problems when not used correctly. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Food introduction: The general recommendation for food introduction in infants is rice cereal at 4 months, vegetables at 5 months, fruits and fruit juices at 6 months, finger foods & meats at 9 months. A three meal two snack schedule is the usual goal, but adapting this schedule to your family's normal routine should be fine as long as your baby is comfortable and gaining weight appropriately. ...Read more

Likes Being naked: It is important to make sure the diaper is not too tight or rubbing the inner thighs or along the hips. Some babies really do not like being clothed and others love it. . If the diapers are not too tight, and no rash issues, and baby quits crying after a little bit, it is most likely (s)he doesn't like being in diapers and will adjust with time. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
10-12 months: If a parent wants to feed a baby fish, wait until the baby is old enough to be able to eat pureed meats, which are a bit drier/stickier than the baby-food veggies or fruits. This is usually around 10-12 months. Fish have little bones, so are more dangerous. A parent must take each flake of fish and massage it between his fingers until it is mushy (that is the best way to check for bones. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

My sister thinks I should keep my baby's umbilical cord stump for our baby album. Isn't that overdoing it?
Some people do: Once the cord stump dries up and falls off, it's harmless and some people do keep it for a memento. What to keep in a baby box or album is a very personal decision, and also varies with culture. If keeping the cord stump grosses you out, maybe you'd feel more comfortable with hospital id bands or other non-organic keepsakes. But dried cord stump poses no risk of carrying infections or anything bad. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Evaluation of FHR: Maternal-fetal medicine or OB doctors or nurses spend lot of time looking at the heart on ultrasound and fetal heart monitoring to see if there is a regular and normal heart rate, typical variability, absence of decelerations.
