My Baby Poops After Every Feeding
No: Stooling patterns for infants are very different from adults. Some newborns poop after every feed (yes that can mean 8 times a day!). Some breastfed babies, however, absorb all the nutrients in the milk and can go up to a week without a poopey diaper. As long as your baby is gaining weight well, his stool is soft, there's no blood in the diaper and the stool isn't a white color its probably ok. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not necesarily: Look into how much you r feeding him first. Try to make feeds of lesser amount and more frequent. Also use "reflux precautions" in which u keep babies head elevated above stomach for half an hour after each feeding, and lay him with head of crib elevated. If this doesn't work talk with your doctor to see if thickening or changing formula is the next best thing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
6 week old baby normally poops once a day has been pooping after every feed the last day. Formula fed, poos are mustard colour and watery. Take 2 dr?
:poop:: It is okay for a baby to poop after every feed. The watery consistency does not sound normal however and the baby may have a light stomach virus. I would feed the baby two feedings with pedialyte instead of formula. If the watery poop continues after switching back to formula, I would take the baby to be evaluated or if there is associated vomiting, fever or other symptoms. ...Read more
Spit up versus vomit: Quite normal for many babies to spit up small amounts of milk/formula after feeding. Should be white & not green which could be sign of intestinal obstruction. Helped by vigorous burping. Larger volumes can be associated with gastric reflux, helped by keeping baby tilted head up. Projectile vomiting is another matter & could indicate presence of pyloric stenosis. Can be diagnosed sonographically. ...Read more

My month old baby keeps throwing up after every feeding. What could be wrong? Breastfeed during the day, 2 bottles of 2oz newborn formula at night.
Esophageal Reflux: Or gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Occurs when lower esophageal sphincter is loose, doesn't close, stomach content comes up as vomiting. Make sure, when feeding, head 45 degree upright, a good seal while nursing, no gap, so that baby doesn't swallow air. Burp up halfway and after feeding, keep baby upright for 1/2 hour. If not better, anytime projectile vomit, poor wt. Gain, see doc asap. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
GER: Gastroesophageal reflux is common in infants until their esophageal sphincter develops, and are prone to increased symptoms after feeds, while laying flat, with pressure on the abdomen and with rapid position changes. Common symptoms include spitting up, nasal congestion, fussiness, gagging/coughing and more. GER usually diminishes around 6 months. ...Read more
3 month old baby doing green potty with mucus 4 times day after .Strickly breast feed but last week 1 time fed with formulae.
It depends!: The frequency, color and consistency of normal infant stools vary a lot. Green is not abnormal. Mucous can reflect inflammation, as in bacterial stool infection or an allergic problem. If your baby's stools became more frequent and contained mucous only after a bottle of formula, it may be a milk protein allergy. If the baby is feeding and acting well, i'd keep nursing and talk to the doctor. ...Read more
Yes: A young baby usually poops after every feeding or after every-other feeding (averaging 3-4 poops a day). As the weeks go by, babies tend to poop less often, some twice a day while others once every-other day. As long as a baby is normal in eating, growth, and development; and does not have constipation, bloating, or tummy aches; the number of poops per day is not very important. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My three month old baby is vomiting lot. Each time after feed and often. And each time she burps she coughs little. And cries lot. I am worried.?
More or less: I push for 2.5-3 hours during the day and 4-5 hr at night. If you make a gradual change this can happen and you will both do well. After the kid reaches 10 lb, she may sleep 5-7 hrs. This is often aided if she is fed as she wakens rather than as she tires and is ready for sleep. Removing feeds from the sleep ritual alows them to learn to self settle. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm breastfeeding my son every two hours and he's two months old, when does his feeding time change?
Now if he is gaining: well. You can gradually increase the time between feedings by 10-15 minutes by soothing him with holding and soft vocalizing, even consider a pacifier. As he waits a bit longer he will take in more and be satisfied longer. At two months he should be able to advance to every 3-4 hours over the next few weeks . Remember, you need to rest.
