My Baby Moves A Lot When Sleeping
My baby is 4 months old and moves a lot when sleeping, is this normal and if so when will it stop?
Don't expect it: Random movement of the arms and legs in both the waking and sleeping periods are expression of a normal nervous system. The brain sends out random messages to the motor nerves to flex or extend to preserve muscle mass and tone.Without these events, the muscles would weaken like yours would if you were placed in a cast or splint. ...Read more
12 week old baby girl sucks on fingers and moves a lot when sleeping but doesn't wake. Is she hungry or just self soothing? Is it teething?
She is fascinated : At 12 weeks of age, your baby will become fascinated with her hands. She will examine her fingers and thumbs closely, put them in her mouth and try to suck on them. She also dreams and recognize your voice. It is very common for this age. All babies are different individuals, and they develop at different ages. My baby is 2mths old. He squirms a lot while sleeping on his back. He moves his neck from side to side vigorously. What is causing this?
Normal.: You'll probably notice a lot of weird things when your baby sleeps. The breathing rate can change, he can cry out for no reason, he can move his head back and forth, side to side, then be still. This is no cause for concern. Lots of babies do this. ...Read more

Kids move: For one thing, get baby out of your bed. We loose kids every year to suffocation during co-sleeping. It is not common but you would hate yourself forever if it happens. Babies also move in their sleep, alerting partially after the first 3 hrs and about every 45min/1hr thereafter. If you want better sleep, wean her to a crib. ...Read more

My 2 months baby sleeps most of the day & gets fussy & cries a lot between 12-3 am, how can I change this, and how can to train him to sleep in his bed?
Are u co-sleeping?: First of all, never co sleep. It is too risky for the baby. Additionally, it is very important for you as the parent to set the child's sleep schedule. I'm sure that your pediatrician can help you out with this. If you are unable to get adequate assistance there then i would recommend speaking to a sleep specialist who specializes in pediatric sleep medicine. You may need a referral to a psychologist who specializes in the sleep of infants. ...Read more
My baby 9mo. Always rubs her nose a lot when i'm trying to put her to sleep and when im trying to feed her too...Is this normal?
Nose-rubbing can be: A sign of an itchy nose from food allergies, if there's a strong family history & she has congestion or copious mucus. However, it can also be a self-soothing ritual, which is perfectly fine in infants & young kids. I hope you've established a consistent bedtime & ritual, reading, nursing, brushing her teeth, then putting her to bed drowsy, but awake, so she can self-calm if she night-wakes. ...Read more
