My 8 Week Old Is Always Hungry
Is it really hunger: The 2 month old is a rapidly growing infant that needs fuel to grow. They will feed more often than older infants.Yet many parents are confused by non-nutritive (self calming) sucking behavior as a sign they need more. Babies are wired to survive and often suck 24/7 it does not always mean hunger. Think of the newborn. Never understood what feeding was about, yet takes to it immediately. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My newborn(13 days old) is always hungry, would it be ok to start bottle feeding and keep breastfeed?
Be patient : Newborns are wired to suckle 24/7 as a reflex. Try not to confuse the reflex with hunger. If baby has just eaten, the stomach is not sending that message, but baby may accept a feed for comfort if offered. Breast fed stomachs can empty every 2 hours, formula taked longer. Newborns grow fast and eat often. If baby is wetting every 4-6 hrs s/he doesn't need supplements. ...Read more
My son is 13.8 yrs. old, 141.1cm tall, weighs 41.8 kg. Is it safe to give him vit. B 50 complex for increased appetite?
Yes, and no increase: B 50 is a very high dose of all the B vitamins, which are all water-soluble,; they all have a maximum amount which can actually pass from the intestines into the bloodstream every 8 hours. The rest goes to the large bowel and is eliminated. So, it is impossible to OD on them. I doubt, however, that there is any evidence-based data that giving extra B vitamins can stimulate appetite. Hello, my son is 1.5 months old and he is always hungry... 10-15 minutes after feeding him, he gets hungry for more, please help.
See his Pediatrician: Infants can appear hungry after eating. It is important to check with your Pediatrician to see if your son is growing well and gaining weight appropriately. Depending of the type of feeding also has an impact (formula vs. breast feeding). Some babies appear to breast feed well but if their mother does not have an adequate amount of milk, they will be hungry. Best to check with his Pediatrician ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I feed my 4month old baby near 10 to 12 times a day. He always hungry. May i give any cereals food to him.?
Not yet: Introducing cereals early may not be a good idea. You should consider supplementing breast feeding with formula, if you are not producing enough milk. Early introduction of cereals may introduce sensitivity to cereal proteins. You should wait till the baby is six months old before introducing cereals. ...Read more

Need more info: You didn't state how tall you are and how much you weigh. Please provide us the information to help you. ...Read more
I feed my 4 month old baby near 10 to 12 times a day. He always hungry. May i give any solid food to him?
Define hungry: You don't need permission to feed your baby.We don't recommend solids before 6m but this varies with the doc. If your kid consumes > 32 oz formula/day, solids may be needed. Some misread a kids finger or pacifier use as indication of hunger, it is not. The pleasure of chewing, sucking, nail biting, etc. Is a self soothing skill. If your kid is fluffy you may want to slow the feeds. ...Read more

Your : Your son is considered obese, and is at risk of early onset diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure, amongst many other medical, psychological, and social issues. Polyphagia (excessive eating) can be an early sign of juvenille diabetes. Also, there are other conditions associated with polyphgia, these include diseases such as prader-willi syndrome (compulsive eating) and kleine syndrome (hyperthalmus disorder). Your child will need a complete work up by his pediatrician. Also a nutritionist and a psychologist would be a great idea as well. Your pediatrician should set up a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment plan for your son. Best of luck. ...Read more

Past week=sudden increased appetite. Like i feel like a teenage boy about to go through a growth spurt. Got period 5 years ago, so prob not growth ?
