I have a 16 month old baby boy but he looks very small for his age snd has a high belly is something wrong there?
Check growth charts: At 16 months of age, his last check up would have been at 12 months. His doctor can recheck the growth since then, do an exam, check the belly, and review the growth chart. The next check up is at 18 months, and the doctor can re-examine and measure the height and weight again. A baby's size is usually determined by the size of the parents, and their familial/genetic/racial backgrounds. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My daughter is really stuffed up and coughing really bad and her poop is grey she is only 6 months old what could the grey poop mean?
Poop color...: ..Changes with diet, with viruses, and with many other factors. The color of the poop doesn't concern me unless it's black or red. What concerns me more is she is "stuffed up and coughing really bad." that could just mean she had a cold, or at 6 months it could be something more. I encourage you to err on the side of caution and see he pediatrician. ...Read more

My mom is 69 yrs old she is diabetic is on blood thinners and water pills. What does it mean when a doctor says my moms blood is too thin?
Here's a guess:: I don't know the details of your mom's condition. She may be on Coumadin (warfarin) - a common anticoagulant which "thins" the blood and prevents blood clots. Coumadin (warfarin) must be carefully monitored by a blood test. If there is too much anticoagulation effect, a person may have bleeding complications. When there isn't enough anticoagulation, a person may have a blood clot. It's a delicate balance. Lgromkomd. ...Read more

Hopefully, your : Entire family will assure her that her weight is a health concern, not a cause for shame, & will commit to permanent diet & lifestyle changes to support her. Polycystic ovaries syndrome is a possible cause of her obesity & hypertension. My daughter is 6mths old, I believe she is constipated. She was straining/crying and there was a tinge of blood on her stool. Emergency room?
Not Necessary: Get a half of pediatric glycerin suppository and insert it into her rectum (butt). This will coat the stool and help it to slide out. The blood if it is bright red, is from the straining. In the future add 1/2 jar of baby prunes to her diet and avoid rice cereal and bananas for the time being. Good Luck! ...Read more
My 5 year old son is peeing a little blood when he pees is that serous. He says there is no pain though. That's it
Any : Any blood in the urine (called hematuria) is abnormal and your son should be evaluated by a doctor. There are hundreds of causes for blood in the urine - some of which are mild, some of which can be life-threatening. The amount of blood in the urine does not correlate to the severity of the problem, so even a little blood should be looked into by a doctor. Good luck! ...Read more
Hi doc I have a 16 month old baby boy but he looks very small for his age snd has a high belly is something wrong there?
Talk to his doctor: Your son's doctor has charts to compare his growth -- weight, length and head size -- to other children. They can also see how his growth has changed in the last few months and compare his general size to height of parents. They can tell you if there is anything to worry about and what changes to make in feeding, if anything. I doubt the high belly is anything to worry about but doctor can check. ...Read more

My 4 year old daughter has loose bowels the last 2 days what can this be from (runs) shes not eating much no temperature but has is very flemy. Any sug?
Likely viral: The average 4yo will have 2-3 diarrhea illnesses/yr form a variety of intestinal viruses. What does it mean if a male is constipated and his urine is a brown color he has been dripping poop every now an then?
Most likely: Constipation due to dehydration causing a dark concentrated urine as the body tries to avoid losing any more fluid. The dripping stool may be liquid stool seeping around a fecal impaction. You need to see a doctor to confirm and get proper treatment. Start by drinking lots of caffeine free/ alcohol free fluid like gatorade up to 120 ounces per day. ...Read more
