No, antiviral only: It is unusual to get cold sores lesions on arms and legs, and zovirax (acyclovir) is specific for antiviral. To confirm the cause, a rash needs to be examined, but based on location and occurring at the same time, it is more likely to be a contact allergic dermatitis. Needs to be seen.: There are multiple things it could be, from eczema (an allergic condition) to scabies (bugs in the skin), to contact dermatitiis (poison ivy, etc.) to many other things that can cause itchy bumps. Rashes can not be reliably diagnosed without being seen. Go to your pediatrician or a dermatologist. A rash that's bothering your child deserves care. ...Read more
