Muscle spasm in left groin/thigh while sitting. Am I compressing a nerve? Where is the said nerve?
Yes: It sees like with sitting you are causing compression in the area of the abductors and maybe the gluteus muscles. It depends on your weight and what type of exercise you do, . Running, elliptical machines and stair climbing can cause tightness in the quadriceps and hamstring muscles. With a unilateral spasm, it could be the way you sit at your desk or drive your car. May need an evaluation.
Sharp radiating pain in left thigh, muscle spasms in left leg, left leg very restless at times. Left arm strong ache in it with hand tingling. Only 22?
Lle: Possibly coincidental that the left arm and leg are symptomatic unless there is something in the brain causing it. More likely carpal tunnel in hand and pinched mid lumbar nerve or diabetic amotrophy.
Hip/ butt muscle spasms on left side like charlie horse. Recent MS dx. Possible symptom? Very painful lasted 2 days already. Suggestions?
SOME THOTS: Pain is very common in ms, and can present numerous ways, and even migraine is present in ms pts at a frequency of 2-4 times normals. However, your muscle spasms could represent a separate process in hip, back, pelvis. (unlikely, but if you were given steroids, check for avascular necrosis in hip). Lastly, do not want to second guess your doc, but there are oral meds now (no needles).See 1 more doctor answer

What do I do I have a muscle tense in my left thigh which has been there for 5 days and I think it might it may be a trapped nerve?
Need examination: The information you have provided it is rather minimal and honestly does not strike me as an entrapped nerve syndrome. Still, if it is very painful or preventing you from using that leg then, you should seek immediate medical attention. If you would like to talk about this live online please look me up at WWW. Healthtap. Com/drsaghafi I'd be happy to meet with you on WebCam to advise you further.

I get this sharp pain in the back of my left thigh only when I bend down. I've been working out for 2 weeks now. Could it be because I pulled a muscle?
I pulled a muscle in my lower back on Monday. Now I have pain radiating down my front left thigh. Standing and walking are unbearable. What can I do?
Mri: This sounds more like disc related pain. Get an MRI. the front of the thigh suggests L4 nerve root impingement. Does the pain make it to the big toe? The front of the thigh pain can also be from a superficial nerve root that is being effected. Policemen and others who wear big belts sometimes get this due to impingement on the lateral femoral nerve. Is there hip pain? Calf Pain? foot pain?

? meralgia: Pinching of lat femoral cutaneous nerve at hip is not uncommon and causes meralgia paresthetica, which might be made worse by tight objects about the waist. Although most commonly this is a mechanical issue, on rare occasions, there may be an initial presentation of a systemic disorder such as diabetes. Contact your physician.See 1 more doctor answer
My wife had an injury in her left knee which has recovered, but her left thigh muscle has become very week. She is unable to climb stairs. Any advise?
Rehab knee injury: If the weakness of the muscles is due to the knee injury, then a rehabilitation program is indicated. With an acute knee injury (eg., sprain), subsequent leg weakness is unusual since these heal in about a week. For ligament sprains/tears, etc. The inability to use the knee/leg for an extended period of time lets the muscles become very week. The treatment is physical therapy until healed.
Need more informatio: I would need more information to determine what is going on. It would be helpful to know when the pain started, how it affects your activities, and any associated symptoms.
It is a body tissue that has the ability to contract. It shortens and generates force. It relaxes and returns to its original length. Muscles move joints, stabilize the body, move air and food through the organs, act as valves for bladder, bowel and other organs. They control movement of the eyes. They help us express ourselves by changing the shape of our ...Read more
