Bone vs. muscle pain: Muscle pain is far more common. It tends to cause pain during or after activity & is more likely to be affected by position. Bone pain feels deeper, more severe & may be constant. Tamoxifen can cause bone, joint or muscle pain. It is usually generalized or symmetric rather than just one joint. Runners can get bursitis or iliotibial band symptoms. Call your doctor if your symptoms worsen. ...Read more

Exercise or sport?: This sounds like a pulled muscle, tendon, or ligament. Occasionally a tiny piece of bone can be displaced with certain activities with very strong hip and leg muscles. You should first apply warm compresses or heating pad and take Tylenol (acetaminophen) or very low dose NSAID; you can apply Arnica gel or cream and of course avoid any motion or activity that increases pain. See a doc if not better in 3 days. ...Read more

38 yr-old w/ hemorrhoid per anoscopy. Chronic low back and right hip pain, stand at work. Consistently flat stool; could this be from muscle tension?
Yes and maybe: Certainly, standing for a long period, such as at work, can result from muscle strain and be a factor in chronic low back & hip pain. Stretching/strengthening exercises should help. But "flat stool" needs more investigation in my view; hemorrhoids by themselves should not be sufficient to cause. I would ask doctor for more testing, probably flex sig or colonosocpy, to evaluate. Good luck:) ...Read more
