Probably...: If the mass changes position when you flex your muscles or move your ankle thrn it is likely muscle. If you have had an injury to that area sometimes there can be a hermiation of the muscle through its sheath of fascia. If the mass becomes painful or gets larger you should get it evaluated. ...Read more

Baker Cyst: If the "bump" is directly behind the knee and not associated with pain the most likely etiology is a "baker's cyst" or popliteal cyst. These are usually benign though at times can become quite large and become bothersome due to limitation they place on bending the knee. Yesterdays Cyst.: Sounds about right to me. The cyst of a few months ago is starting to thicken it's walls and firm up. It is taking up more space and starting to effect the surrounding tissues. Probably best to have it re-evaluated. Consider having it excised. ...Read more

Not related.: The minimally positive ANA is not related to the swollen sc joint and the pain you describe. There are several things that can cause sc joint swelling including infection. See a rheumatologist. ...Read more
