Not the most likely-: Causes. Thyroid problem could possibly cause cramping but other symptoms are far more likely to be seen first in your thyroid isn't working right. Since one of the functions of the parathyroid is to control calcium levels, and low calcium levels can produce muscle spasm, it is also possible. Nevertheless, thyroid and parathyroid problems shouldn't come at the top of the list of considerations. ...Read more

L-spine evaluation: The least severe and easiest to treat would be piriformis syndrome. This is pinching on the nerve by a muscle in you buttock region. PT: As long as you are improving with PT and there are no warning signs , you should continue it for as long as it is prescribed to you. It's a good idea to discuss surgical options and their outcomes with neurosurgeon. ...Read more

Depends on the cause: but anti-inflammatory will help for the most part. If dehydration is involved fluids and magnesium could help. Heat or cold can help but honestly it is what makes you feel better. Stretching and massage could help. ...Read more
