Also, the results of any procedure are almost entirely dependent on the skill level and experience of the surgeon doing the procedure so find a surgeon with great experience doing all types of shoulder replacements: http://theshouldercenter.Com/shoulder-replacement. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can you please explain me the surgery procedure needed for someone with frequent shoulder dislocation ? Is there an age limit for this ? My fr is 19.
Labral repair: In order to stabilize his shoulder & stop the dislocations he will need to have his labrum repaired most likely. This structure is usually torn or stretched from dislocations. Other procedures more rarely needed could involve bone transfer/grafting if bone loss is present. There is not an age restriction, as long as strict postop protocol/restrictions can be followed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I had an epidural in may last year. Since then my neck and left shoulder have caused severe pain plus dizziness. Symptoms connected to procedure?
Epidural: Epidurals done correctly (by well trained md's) rarely cause increased pain that lasts this long (you had it 5/13). More than likely you have some pathology that is not responsive to epidurals. ...Read more

Does Regenexx Stem Cell and Blood Platelet Procedures really work? I'm Getting my first injection next week for my mild labrum tear in my shoulder
Hopefully: A small labral tear can potentially heal on its own, or it also may not. The injection of stem cells, platelette derived growth factor, or other " growth factors" has been tried for several years; with variable results. The good thing is it is relatively safe, and hopefully the tear will heal. What is not clear if the cells or growth factor was any benefit; but again hopefully you will do well. ...Read more

I has an ORIF procedure done on my right clavicle( collar Bone) using Titanium plates and 7 screws. Its healing now. Do I need to remove the plate ?
No hardware removal : You do not have to have the plate and screws removed unless they are prominent and rubbing on the skin or are causing pain. Routine plate and screw removal is not usually done because it requires a second surgery and there are holes in the bone where the screws were removed that may make it easier for the clavicle to fracture in the future. ...Read more
