Multivitamin 12 Medication
Is it safe to take a multivitamin everyday? I'm not on any medication. And also, are they effective?
Yes it is and needed: In addition to a balance diet of Complex Carbs, Quality Proteins (plant and/or animal) and Essential Fats, a quality MVI (multivitamin) is an important consideration & is effective. Because our soils have been possibly over-farmed, we are losing some of the nutrient value of the produce grown. And, for that reason, along with the fact that most people eat a SAD (Standard American Diet), a MVI (multivitamin) should be added. ...Read more

Is Colace (docusate sodium) (Docusate 100 mg) safe in 31 week pregnancy? My prenatal multivitamin has Docusate as well. Is there any safer medication for constipation?
That is safe: Constipation can be an issue during pregnancy. So the docusate is important to reduce the amount of strain or vasalva pressure you put on your entire system when you're constipated and trying to have a BM. So you are safe to keep constipation at bay by taking a stool softener (docusate). ...Read more
I'm 22 yrs old male 77kg. I take oxycodone, bromazepam, multivitamins, xanax (alprazolam).... I know these medications kill my liver. What medications should I take to save my liver? Thank you
I think at this: Point the major issue is not what you should take in addition to your current drugs - but rather what medications can be removed from your current medication regimen. Work together to optimize these medications. Take care. ...Read more

Can I take solodyn, Advil or tylenol, (acetaminophen) and multivitamins together? What are the potential drug interactions? Side effects? Thanks.
Not at same time:
Solodyn (minocycline) has many interactions; taking with calcium (usually found in multivits) can reduce absorption- they should be taken at least 2 hours apart.
Solodyn (minocycline) kills our friendly intestinal flora which can lead to yeast overgrowth ; a wide range of side effects. It's wise to take probiotics ; not use it very long. Topical antibiotics ok. Regular Ibuprofen use can cause ulcers ; GI bleeds. See comment:. ...Read more

Is it safe to take brain-enhancing multivitamin supplements w/ pharmacetuical drugs such as zyprexa (olanzapine)? Also do side effects from zyprexa (olanzapine) fade over time?
Probably, sometimes: Research has shown high doses of vit c, e, b3 ; b6 prevent tardive dyskinesia, a serious possible side effect of zyprexa (olanzapine). I don't know what's in the supps you're considering but there are no interactions between zyprexa (olanzapine) ; nutrients to the best of my knowledge so it's likely safe. As for side effects, sometimes they fade over time but unfortunately not always. Reducing dose often helps-see comment:. ...Read more
Can pain medications such as hydrocodone/nsaids and/or multi vitamins cause foamy bubbly urine. I have it about 80% of the time.
Not that I know of: Foamy or bubbly urine is not abnormal, and depends to some extent on the force of your stream and distance to the toilet water. There is some association with higher urine protein levels and more foamy urine, so it may be worthwhile to just have a urinalysis looking for protein. If you are diabetic or hypertensive, might ask your doctor to check urine microglobulin. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. ...Read more
Planning to take fish oil supplements along with thiazide and Lipitor (atorvastatin) medication. Also taking multi vitamin gummies. Is this okay?
Can I take vitamin a pills with a daily mulitvitamin if I also take fish oil capsules? Would they be a good alternative for acne medication?
Poor alternative: You'll need to take enough vitamin A to make yourself sick (and I mean SICK) before you can expect it to clear your acne. Get a topical retinoic acid derivative for your skin rather than the overkill approach that systemic administration offers. If this doesn't clear you, get with your personal physician for help. Fish oil's your business -- the recent studies are disappointing. ...Read more

Is it ok to take multi vitamins with sodium valproate and carbamazepin? What drugs not to take with these coz I read they not use with malaria drugs?
Multivitamins: Multivitamins would be fine to take with sodium valproate and carbamazepine. In fact, it may be a good idea since these medicines can deplete some nutrients -- such as b vitamins, zinc, vitamin d, etc. Some sources suggest that hair loss and zinc deficiency may be related. There are multiple anti-malarial drugs, so you need to discuss yours with your own physician and/or pharmacist. ...Read more
