Multiple Shotty Lymph Nodes Throughout Neck All 1cm Or Less But One Is 175 Cm Very Soft And Moveable Doc Said Its Ok It Shrinks And Swells
Is it ok to have multiple shotty lymph nodes under 2cm throughout head and neck and have one which is 2.5 CM very soft and moveable and fluctuates siz?
Needs follow up: Asymptomatic but persistent neck nodes can be due to chronic sinus or nasal issues, allergies, lymphadenopathy disorders such as castlemans disease, etc. And also sometimes due to lymphomas which are low grade in nature. If there is no satisfactory cause identified over time then evaluation by an infectitous disease or hematology specialist may be of use. ...Read more
Swelling lymph nodes in neck less than 1 cm They are soft and painless Doc gave me zinnat and klacid Is that mean there is nothing serious or cancer?
Lymph node: You are young and it is unlikely this is serious. Take your antibiotics. Lymph nodes swell and these are called reactive lymph nodes. Sometimes these will stay a little bigger. I have a couple on my neck. If the node would have painless swelling and spongy feel then get checked. ...Read more
I have multiple baby shotty soft moveable lymph nodes I can feel posterior to my sternocleidomastoid muscle. And cervical. Doc said they r ok.?
Probably OK: Without personally evaluating these it is difficult to know what these are. Lymph nodes help clean up infection for a living and when they are earning their keep they may become mildly enlarged, generally soft, mobile and non-tender. Suspect your physician is correct. ...Read more
Can lymph nodes swell infrequently? I've been to the doc for neck swelling and arm pit pain but 4 docs have said they feel no swelling any ideas?
Yes, and several: Lymph nodes part of our immune defense system for virus, microorganisms & cancer. About 1% of blood plasma (water) which departs arterial-end of capillaries is not picked back up at venous-end, body wide. Lymph vessels return this excess water (& whatever is in the water) from around cells back into the blood stream. Lymph nodes, full of white blood cells, remove items/cells recognized not healthy. ...Read more
I have some shotty lymph nodes in the low neck area, about 4/5 cm above my collar bone they are symmetrical. They are about 1cm. Must I worry?
Found 2 enlarged, moveable lymph nodes in neck & collarbone, went to doc, had full CBC done and results were normal. Will they eventually go away?
There are many causes of enlarged lymph nodes in neck, some can be serious and other due to mild illness and go away on its own. The causes are
3 viral infections
5 hodgkins disease
discuss with your doctor what his/her impression is, as to the cause and if it needs biopsy to make diagnosis. ...Read more
Lymph nodes less than 1cm in neck otorhinolaryngologist gave me klacid 250 and zinnat 500 My friend is doc abroad and he said no necessary for those?
Lymphadenopathy: It depends on whether the lymph nodes are symptomatic or not when they're smaller than 1 cm. Persistent (asymptomatic) neck lymphadenopathy is well-described and occurs from repetitive previous infections during childhood leading to hardening of those nodes and if that's the case, ABx aren't needed. ...Read more
1 year ago 2enlargement lymph nodes in neck and 1in left armpit I saw a doc and he said"let them alone" they didn't disappear but no changing in size?
Lymph nodes.: Technically speaking we recommending getting biopsies (excisional) of lymph nodes if they linger with no identifiable reason for more than one month at the most. That being said, if they’ve been around for one year without change in size/shape/texture/orientation, then they’re probably fine - but technically hard to tell. ...Read more
I noticed some lymph nodes (less than 1cm) in my neck Doc prescribed:bromolain zinnat500 clacid250 Why zinnat with clacid?
Swelling 3 soft, painless lymph nodes in neck Doc gave me klacid 2 of them became smaller and 1 didn't change in size Should I worry?
Cause and effect: If the enlarged lymph nodes were due to an infection in your neck, and the nodes shrunk in size then he or she chose the correct treatment and you are on the mend. Sometimes it takes lymph nodes several days to regress to the normal size... However, if you still have fever or other signs of infection go back to your physician. I ...Read more
Tonsillitis for last 3 wks. Improved on doc prescribed Erythromyc last wk for 7d. After a day of no antibios the lymph nodes in neck hv swollen back?
Tonsillitis: Prolonged tonsillitis is commonly due to infectious mononucleosis- have you been tested for it? Bacterial causes of tonsillitis respond quickly to antibiotics, but viral causes are resistant to all antibiotics. If the initial test for mono was negative, a second test may turn positive. Discuss this with your physician., ...Read more
Swollen and painful lymph nodes in neck. My doc thinks it's my psoriasis, but I do not, what else could this be?
I have lymph nodes in my neck for more than month Ent doc said they are because chronic infection What's that mean and why he didn't give me any drugs?
Identify infection: He was probably unable to identfy a specific infection. People can have enlarged d lymph nodes for a variety of reasons. Your best approach is to see a regular general physician to be checked out for any type of chronic infection. He did not see a specific process so he could not prescribe a specific medication ...Read more
Why my doc didn't ask for biopsy for enlargement neck lymph nodes for 4 months CBC is normal Chest X-ray is normal No other symptoms?
They're your friends: If the nodes are stable, not fixed to surrounding structures, not of a consistency that suggests disease, and you do not have obvious systems of Hodgkin's disease (the one real concern here), leave them alone. Every young guy has a few. They protect you and cutting around the lymph circulation will just make a mess. It's not worth it ...Read more

Not sure of question: It sounds like your doctor found a "mass" in your neck above your collar bone and recommended an MRI. This confirmed the presence of lymph nodes in the same area, some of which were slightly large, at the upper ("top normal") limit of normal. These could be reactive... responding to some inflammation/infection nearby or neoplastic (tumor). Depending on other symptoms, observation or biopsy is next ...Read more

Swollen lymph node: A persistently swollen node is concerning and needs to be worked up. Your ENT will likely order a biopsy (FNA, fine needle or open). It is important to understand what process is going on. A pathologist will review your biopsy and hopefully provide answers. ...Read more

Can untreated, recurrent Tinea Versicolor all over the trunk & groin regions cause enlarged, or shotty, lymph nodes in groin, armpits, & neck?
Been to dr at least 6 times for swollon lymph nodes in neck and groin. All say they are "shotty nodes". Now I found another node in my armpit. Cancer?
Why so many times?: If you had cancer in your lymph glands, they would have continued to enlarge, leading your doctor to do a biopsy. Unless the lymph nodes are growing and become bigger than 1.5 to 2cm (one inch), it is hard to think of them as cancerous (normal nodes can be palpable as you have felt them yourself). Please quit feeling for them as it only makes you more nervous and anxious. Get checked 1-2 times/yr. ...Read more
Doc found a painless mass on my thyroid - what could this mean? I also have painful lymph nodes in chest, head, groin areas. Please advise. Thank you.
Thyroid: This is difficult to answer without a more thorough exam and studies. The thyroid mass is likley a nodule. Whether it is benign or not, I cannot say. The lymph nodes should be examined and followed and if needed, biopsied. Sorry I cannot give more information without examination and workup. ...Read more

Enlarged lymph nodes throughout neck. & a few under arms. All soft. All moveable. All 1.25 CM or less. Been there for three years. No growing. Cancer?
Probably not: I think it's just your healthy immune system working to fight off infections. The fact that they are freely movable is reassuring. Cancer (lit, 'the crab') tends to send out tentacles that tie tissues down. Also the fact they're not growing is reassuring. Relax, and enjoy your life (safely, of course). ...Read more
Swollen lymph nodes in neck, that are all soft. Moveable and under 1cm except one is 1.5 cm. Temps of 99.2 frequently and chills? Been for 3 years!
Go to see MD: You should go to see your doctor and get yourself checked. There are different things like autoimmune disorder, infection, chronic inflammation or malignancy - at your age- hodgkin's lymphoma, testicular cancer are things to be ruled out. However since you mentioned that it has been there for 3 years -then hodgkin's, leukemia /ca would be less likely-as the problem. Go to see your doc for eval. ...Read more
I've gone to 4 diff docs about my lymph nodes and they all dismiss them as fine bc their soft and moveable. I have one that'2.5cm. What do y'all sugge?
Lighten up: Four doctors have examined your nodes and found them to be not significant. That is a pretty good sampling of opinion. Why does this obsess you? Did a member of your family or a close friend have a disease which started with detection of abnormal nodes? If you wander around enough, you will find someone who wil cave and do a biopsy - but why? Since it seems it will be normal. ...Read more
Is the tender lymph nodes on neck lasting for a month normal? One of them is 1.5 CM in sizes under my jaw. Others r around 1cm on neck. Thx
Lymph nodes: Tender nodes could be due to an underlying infection or inflamed area. If there are several on the neck for over a month you should see your physician as soon as possible. Evaluation for infection is necessary but if there is no evidence than a lymph node biopsy may be needed to look for abnormal cells. Please see your doctor! Good luck! ...Read more
