What does: Septated upper pole right renal cyst. Right kidney contains multi septated cyst, 4.5cm in size. May contain punctate calcification. - mean?
A single cyst: The cyst you have is not a simple cyst but a septate cyst, that means the cyst space inside is divided into multiple small spaces from by of bands of tissue. Calcification in the cysts is common from concretions from long standing fluid inside the cysts. But as the cyst if 4.5 cm, just be it monitored with help of US once in every yr-2 yrs to r/o cancer development. Look for pain, blood in urine ...Read more

Ultrasound shows multi septate cyst in right ovary measuring 20x10cm. Was planning IVF next month. No children at 37yrs. Will operation be necessary?
I have a complex multi septated ovarian cyst at 9.5 x 5.6 x 6.3 CM Is that something to be concerned about? BRCA 1 family history, I tested Negative
Yes: While it is impossible to predict whether or not ovarian cysts/masses are benign or cancer, usually large ones need to be dealt with surgically. May want to see a gyn oncologist for an opinion since they deal with this frequently. Cancer would be very unusual in a 23 year old. Hope this helps! ...Read more
Possible: Most malignant ovarian cancers are complex and multilocular / multiseptate. But many benign ovarian cysts also present that way as well. The only way to know for sure is to biopsy or remove the cysts for pathologic evaluation. ...Read more

I just got my radiology report and it says enlarged right ovary 1.2cm complex septated cyst. What does that mean and how do you treat it?
Not that complex!:
A cyst at a size of 1.2cm is not that big and probably represents a normal finding. The description of a septation (or a wall in a cyst) is a 'complex' finding, but is probably of low concern. You need a followup scan in about 6 weeks.

Ovarian Cyst: A single thick septation in the context of a smooth ovary is less worrisome, but it's not the only thing doctors use to triage your risk of ovarian cancer. There's a lot to be taken into consideration such as the cyst's size, the clarity of the fluid within, its growth over time, your symptoms if any, and your family history. You should continue to have follow up with your doctor. ...Read more
Would I ovulate with having a 2cm complex septated cyst on my right ovary. That is causing constant pain?
Cysts regularly develop on one or both ovaries as part of menstration and fertilization. They can cause pelvic pain if they become large, twisted or rupture. Cysts can remain even after ovulation and do not typically interfere with ovulation and except for the pain, most women don't even know they are present.
Cyst growth and continue pain is something to monitor. Through your healthcare provider. ...Read more

My test show my endometrial canal measurement is 0.5cm. I also have a septated cyst 2.8 cm on ovary. Am I at risk for cancer?
I'm 35 yrs of age and diagnose with septated cyst between the spleen and upper pole of the left kidney is it too bad and need to undergo operation?
CYST: The size and presummed origin of the cyst determine the nature of the problem. A septation places it into a different category if it's from the kidney but it is still very likely to be benign and unlikely to cause symptoms unless it grows. The key is the thickness of the wall and if there is blood flow or calcifications seen in the walls or septum. These are in a more serious category. ...Read more
