Cervical change: Being 3cm dilated but still not in labor is discouraging but not that uncommon. Some of the things that maybe noticed is that everything needs to be clean and in order, "nesting". I'm 7 days late and I am now having a watery brown fluid coming out I have already lost my mucus plug... Could the baby have pooped inside of me?

Confusing question?: Are you pregnant already? If so then you should not be having periods at all. The mucous plug is expelled a few ays or weeks before labor. If you are 7 days late and are not sure if you are pregnant then take a test. It would be way to early for a baby to be big enough to have a bowel movement and pass meconium. Even when meconium is present it is not detectable unless your water is broken. ...Read more

Call your doctor: An increase in mucous discharge or "losing your mucous plug" might be a sign of a change or thinning of your cevix. This should prompt a call to your ob/gyn. The fact that the mucous had a greenish color is possibly concerning as well, and you should ask if they are worried about leaking amniotic fluid. Call your OB now. ...Read more
