Yes: Nexplanon and all progestin methods of birth control prevent pregnancy by thickening the cervical mucus, preventing entry of sperm. Mucus like period: Check urine blood HCG, sometimes the pill does not work. Note sometimes with pills there is a decrease/ack of periods. Also check thyroid, prolactin level and for polycystic ovary syndrome. Discuss w/ doctor the addtional tests and switching (some people do not mind the lack of period-but note it may take up several months after stopping BC for period to resume due to pituitary supression) ...Read more

Skip period: Sounds like the expected withdrawal bleeding. I would let the period finish it's course. Use contraception in the meantime (condoms) and start the pill again with the next cycle. ...Read more
