Often they will look like suction cups with stalks holding them up. Normal stuff - not to worry. If you see red/white spots on back of throat, then see MD as it may be strep. Possible, not likely: The 'bumps'' on the back top of your tongue are circumvalate papillae-type of taste bud. On the sides are lingual tonsils. White bumps on/in the tonsils are generally sialoliths, or tonsil stones. They usually pass without notice, but can frequently create inflammation, mild pain and serious bad breath.
