C diff 4 months ago but confirmed gone 2 weeks ago. Still having pain, loose mucous stool..seen blood 2x in last 24 hrs...waiting for GI referral.
Recurring C. diff: C diff is a tricky disease. Even though u tested negative 2 weeks ago I'm not sure I trust that test given you just had it and u have similar symptoms to before. Often there is antibiotic use that causes the relapse - so u have to be very careful about taking any further antibiotics. Only if absolutely needed!! Been having yellow mucous stool. Little comes out. Can't get an GI appt into OCT 18th, should I go to the ER?
Symptoms -blood on toilet paper (not in stool) , slight cramp on upper left side, mucous stools, heartburn. No nausea or any other symptoms. Thought?
See GI specialist: This could be hemorrhoids , or a other problem at the anal verge. Mucous stools could be some sort of irritable bowel disease, and the other symptoms are more consistent with GERD or excess acid. Basically , there is not one condition that explains all of this , but fortunately there is one specialists who manages all of this... a Gastroenterologist) . Could visible mucous throughout stool be from the cold I am getting over? My cold involved a lot of mucous which is now draining out.
It could: Lots of mucous could go down the GI tract.Usually though it would be changed and not be mucousy when it left.Some infections can cause bowel involvement too which can lead to changed stool.Especially at a young age, if this all that is there and it goes away, likely not a big deal.However, if your bowels or bowel habits change or you see blood with mucous, have fevers, weight change get checked out. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
